Nice dodge, but answer this... You're starting a franchise. You have two options for QB, Rivers or Cutler. Who do you choose?

It's ok, we all know the answer. Just want to hear it from a Bronco fan.

I would choose Rivers -- but I'd have to hold my nose!

Man it pains you guy to admit that Rivers is the better QB after all these years.

Peyton is better than Rivers. I'm not afraid to admit that.

Rivers is a better qb than Cutler.

But I still wouldn't want him to be my qb.

Wow, current temp in Denver is in the high 50s. I'm sure it will cool down tonight but definitely not a huge factor for SD.

Jay Cutler must be a Brett Favre clone. One week he looks like a top 5 quarterback the next you wanted to punch him square in the face. When he was with the Broncos I liked his potential but never really liked his "Whatever" attitude. AS much as I hate cry me a Rivers I do like his passion for the game. Sometimes it goes way overboard but at least he acted like he cared after he lost or won.

I've always thought that Rivers is the kind of player you love if he's on your team, but pretty easy to dislike when he plays for your rival.

This is something I really never understood. The guy just plays with passion. Brady takes a lot of heat as well for screaming at people on the sidelines. It's passion. I don't know why people hate him. The guy is a devout Catholic with 7 kids that doesn't even cuss. He's just passionate.

I don't hate Manning. What I hate is Denver's dumb luck. They fired Shanahan, botched the subsequent hire, fired McDaniels, got stuck with Tebow and no decent QBs in site, then Manning just falls into their lap at the time where blowing up the franchise resulted in having enough cap room to sign him. Pure freaking luck. Now I will admit Elway has done a nice job filling in the pieces but you have to admit your franchise would not be where it's at had Indy won 2 more games in 2011.

You can call getting Manning good luck (and it certainly was), but it was also bad luck that Tebow went out and started winning all those games when he got to play. I think it was pretty obvious that the Broncos brass was secretly hoping he would fail and they would end up with a really high draft pick (maybe even number 1). But through a combination of scheduling luck that saw them playing a stretch of games against sub par and injured teams, good defensive play, great field goal kicking, and an offense that made just enough plays to win, they went on that winning streak and got into the playoffs thanks to a bad division.

Then they get a banged up Steelers team that got even more injured during the game and managed to pull off the upset. But I think Manning recognized that they had some pretty good talent here. They had two really good, young receivers, a good running game, good offensive line, and an elite pass rusher.

So yeah, they got lucky, but you have to get a little lucky sometimes, plus they'd built a pretty good nucleus and were just missing the qb. So there was more to it than just luck and Manning falling into their laps.

Agreed. Like I said Elway did a nice job. But name one QB that would have been available in that same time frame that would have the Broncos at 11-2 with that defense. Which QB could've beat a Dallas team on the road while his defense allows 48 points?

Back to fun facts: since 2006 the Chargers are 30-6 in regular season games in December and January. Only the Patriots (32-4) have been better.

Probably stems from having to lost to him so many times. Nothing endearing about an opposing player running his mouth while watching your team suffer a loss.

Couple of things...The NFL requires a little bit of luck to succeed these days. When over half the games played are decided by a touchdown or less then that usually one or two plays a game really decides the major outcome of a game and some of that might be how a fumble decides to bounce or as we have seen this year how injuries play out. Now when it comes to the 48 points given up by the defense you are right there are very few if any other quarterbacks in this league that could have won that game against Dallas.

I will say though my guess is if Manning was not here in Denver then knowing Fox and company they would have tried to build one of the elite defenses in the league. Manning is great having here and I wouldn't trade him for the world but he is getting paid nicely as well. The Broncos have pro bowl players in the defense but they definitely have a couple of holes that offenses like to expose. Just imagine if instead of Manning they had a guy like Jairus Byrd playing safety as he did want to be traded earlier in the year. Then getting a couple of other guys and trying to turn this defense into a powerhouse. Like you said earlier because they were so bad and had gotten rid of some of the talented but very pricey players on the team they had some Cap Room to make some splashy plays that other teams would not have.

Also my fun fact is Peyton Manning hasn't lost a December game since December 5th of 2010 where he went into an overtime game against Dallas.

More fun stats:

Two Charger running backs had more rushing yards than the entire Broncos team.

All 53 Chargers, the head coach, the entire staff, all the front office personnel, and the entire SD fanbase had more rushing yards than Montee Ball.

Rivers is now 6-2 in Denver, including the Hochuli game.

Yeah, props to your team. They were pretty dominant. I didn't expect that. Mathews, Rivers, Allen, and your defense made Denver look pretty bad.

Thanks, they definitely picked the right time to pull out their best game of the year. But thanks to pissing away games against Washington, Tennessee, and Houston it's likely too little to late.

I thought your team might come out flat after hearing them complain about playing Thursday all week. Even the Denver post was saying they were grumpy. They are still the favorite in the AFC in my book but all that goes out the window in division games.
