I am open to bringing in any playmaker. This team desperately needs them.

Price is as important as player. I know Nelson had a good season, but I think people equate Ints with talent a little too often. I also don't put him on a big payday list at all. I'm comfortable with Jones in the mix for FS next year. I saw a lot of warts and not knowing exactly where to be and coverage lapses, but also saw enough to think he will be our FS for the next few years and be a very good player for us; impact type player. I certainly don't hand him the FS job, but I do expect him to win it as we stand today. I do think we should be adding a safety thru the draft or FA. Also, maybe if we stick Wilcox in the SS role and play him in the box he will take the step forward that I mistakenly expected last year...big whiff for me on that one...

I had high hopes for Wilcox, but he & Heath both doesn't need to back next year. Heath has more cue because of ST.

I would argue( of course), Nelson is a very good plaYer and I would take him over Weddle. Those INts that you are assuming I'm all over are just a part of his game. He has always been a ball hawk and was the original Eraser at Florida. Bob kind of took the name a few yrs later. This guy was stuck in Jax for awhile so maybe he isn't known as much as some. He is 32

And they should be. Jones should have been FS from day 1 IMO. Scandrick getting hurt made that impractical.

With Scandrick coming back, a full-time move of Jones to FS would make corner a pressing need. There are a couple of good ones projected to go top 10

I should have just titled this thread Safety. There are only a few out there that can both bring the hammer and cover people as well- Kam Chancellor/ Earl Thomas. I saw it some this year where teams were going with more CBs and using them as Safeties. I've never understood the reasoning with our safeties. They all seem to be the same- good vs the run. Now if Roy Williams can be phased out, it seems that we would have learned our lesson. Unfortunately we haven't. I understand giving WIlcox a chance but we are well over 35 games now in his career. I think he is what he is. Church is an average player that works hard. I get Garretts affinity for him but it's time to cut bait. Nelson/Weddle paired with Jones at Safeties would be a hell of a start.

Im liking the thought of Ramsey myself. Not sure if he makes it to the Cowboys, if they traded back. At 4 is he the BPA or BPA for the Cowboys needs, this is what I ask myself I guess?

I meant either one. With as many DBs as we will need, I have to believe we will try to take care of something in FA whether it be Safety or a CB. Right now we are looking at Scandrick and Jones as 2 of our DBs. I think everyone else is ?.

If Seattle doesn't bring Kam back, pick up Kam for SS & use Jones as the FS
