anyone remember the last time we struggled with wyoming at home? i'm not saying we should be happy or at all satisfied with the performance. i'm merely saying that shit like this happens. we got out of it with a W, and acting like the sky is falling at this point is not gonna change anything. i think we should at least lose a game before we start wanting to fire coaches...just my opinion.

That felt like a loss because 602 is horrible defense

Im not for firing coaches if its too early or not needed but

It is year 6...

No more excuses lets get back to the top!

but it wasn't a loss, and until we lose, we can get there. now if they come out and shit the bed and lose to Southern Miss, or get blown out by UCLA, or lose to one of our shitty conference foes, or get blown out against the tougher ones, you won't hear a word from me defending the coaches. but holy shit wait for something like that to happen. we WON.

yep. if we were gonna fire someone for what happened last year, or the year before, or the year before, it needed to happen already.

That's the same logic my kids used to use. I would find something broke and ask What happened to such and such and would inevitably get the answer "Oh that happened a long time ago"

And my response was every time "oh did I exceed the statute of limitations? There are no statutes of limitations or I would of asked when did this get broken first"

I understand if you feel the history of blowouts, undisciplined play and confusing plays doesn't merit firing anyone (no I don't) but please don't tell me they have to be fired the day it happens.

i don't mean they have to be fired the day it happens, but certainly they shouldn't be fired RIGHT NOW like many seem to be hoping for. if we were going to fire them for last season's performance, it needed to happen in the offseason, or else we need to wait and see if the trend continues.

I understand what you are saying and I don't really believe any one is advocating firing anyone right now.

There is a difference between I would fire so and so and I think they need to fire him today.

A lot of what you see is venting right now also. Last season ended with an embarrassing performance and this season picked up with the same type play.

You feel they need more time, no problem. I do not agree though. There are very few programs that will give 5 years for a coach to figure out what he is doing and then a few more to implement it. And these concerns did not just start getting voiced after this game.

I and many other "drivelers" around here have voiced concern for some time about the undisciplined play, the coaching training ground and the inability to motivate players come game day.

It is not like they lost a game and everyone went into shock. This has been happening for quite some time.

I can tell you if it was my job and I performed at this level I would have been fired a long time ago.

I'm not advocating they be fired right now. However I will say if you're the CEO of a company and you've been given 5 years to increase product sales, yet those sales numbers have continually declined, you're out on your ear. Bo was given full reign of the football program by T.O. to run as his own. T.O. even said he would not tell Bo how to run things and would only be there if Bo was looking for advice.

If the defensive embarrassments continue then Eichorst is going to have to make a tough decision. When given an opportunity to support Bo he opted not to "comment". At least one booster has publically voiced his disapproval. I'd think others have done the same behind closed doors. Bo is in control of his destiny at Nebraska. If there's dead weight in the program he needs to put the program over the loyalty to his buddies. HWSNBN opted to be loyal to his buddies.

Bo established his relationship with the fans, media, and boosters when he first got here. He held them all in contempt for years leading up to his infamous statement "I have not forgotten how to stop the run". NU got blown out by the run a mere 5 days later.

You all think Bo has turned over a new leaf with his humor and kindness. It's more likely he knows his seat's getting warm and now he wants to be everyone's friend. "He he ha ha. I was just kidding with all those snide comments, treating you all like you knew nothing".

Defend the Pelini product all you want. I will continue to call out embarrassing failure for what it is.

i appreciate the responses, and i agree that in year 5, we need to be seeing progress, not regression. however, we have what we have for this season, and i think with a young defense we need to take a breath and give it a chance before flying off the handle after one bad performance. like i said, if the blowouts, lack of discipline, and other woes of the program continue, i will be right there with you. as of right now though, i would rather take a wait-and-see attitude, because it really won't make much difference either way.

I would never ever tell anyone that

I'm just super worried bc our last three games defense wise have been ugly

And I know they are young but I didn't see wyo getting loose like that

IMO I saw a defense that is being handcuff by a system that doesn't work

Or does the talent need a uprgrade? I think we have good talent the system I think is dead

when i watched the game again, it looked like a lot of youthful mistakes...i.e. hesitating, making the wrong read, taking the wrong angle, filling the wrong hole, etc. if that stuff gets corrected, i think we have the talent. last year, we didn't have the talent or speed we needed. this year we don't have the experience. you can gain experience, it's harder to gain talent and speed.

They are thinking too much bc the scheme are too hard or not being taught for them to learn or grasp

Remember how lav David would get pick apart by bo saying he made mistake. But how many times did he save big run or make big tackles in space in 2010 n '11 . He attacked trusted his instinct and made plays that saved 2010 n ESP 2011 season defense wise

Same thing you said was said last year by most husker fans but wasnt that a senior veteran team?
Now young guys with supposed better speed and talent and same thing is being said....

Take the handcuff off bo let them boys fly and attack at 100mph
If your gonna fuck up , fuck up 100 mph .
