Ron Wilson is an idiot if he can't see Kessel's lack of scoring has a lot to do with the fact he doesn't have a proper centre to pass to him. Phil is going to have to gut it out until Burke can get him one, because he isn't going anywhere. Not after we gave up Seguin and another top pick this year.

Yeah, when Tyler Bozak is your number one pivot you can't expect your one goal scoring winger, the ONE guy the opposition needs to focus on each night, to consistently produce.

Not saying you're wrong, because Burke is abrasive and stubborn.....that said, a smart man knows when to fold 'em. Compounding mistakes is not the right play for a rebuilding team.

Wingers are naturally prone to scoring slumps when they don't have good centers. I don't think there's a winger in the league who would score absolutely consistently without a good center. Not even Ovechkin.

Heard a rumour the other day (unsubstantiated) that Phaneuf played through an injury and as a result has become addicted to painkillers.

Might explain his lethargic play the last year or so.

Of course if I got traded to the Leafs I'd need painkillers... and then some...:p

Sadly, that's about half of all pro athletes. They pop pills like candy. And not just a few advil.
