So you don't think at some point in the next 6 years that we could do better than Choo either with a prospect or with a free agency acquisition. I think that point will come within the next 27 months.
For how much longer?
LOL HAHA. What a way to come to a seasons end.
It was going to be within the next 13 months, now it's 27 months. No, I do not think he will be a part of the team in 6 years. I never said anything like that. I said I think JD views him a big part of the team next year. I would think Bogar does as well considering he mentioned Thursday moving him down to 5th in the line-up. I think Choo's ability to get on base will keep him valuable. I think he'll be on the team next year. With Mazara, Gallo, and Rua showing promise it's hard to tell what the plan will be beyond next year. To many factors.

Long enough that they invested in a 7 year deal for him. You ask a lot more questions than you propose answers to.
Give me a question and I will try to answer it. I usually try to answer whenever anyone asks me something.
The amount of years that the Rangers invested in him was a big mistake in my estimation, especially for that amount of money.
You are getting things confused with what I said about 13 months and what I said about 27 months. I was talking about two different aspects. I said he could be traded in the next 13 months after you said he shouldn't be traded after a down year. I was merely saying that any trade could wait until he started playing better. The 13 months would cover next year's trade deadline and right after the end of the season next year.
I mentioned later that I thought we could do better than Choo either with a prospect or with a free agency acquisition within the next 27 months. It might take a prospect that long to surpass Choo, but if Choo is going to be traded it would be better to do so within the next year or so so that he has more good years left which would make him more tradeable. If it is a prospect that we are replacing him with the prospect will need some playing time to get to the level I was mentioning and the prospect and Choo can't play at the same time. Kind of like Profar and Kinsler couldn't play 2B at the same time. Even though I was on baord with trading Kinsler I didn't think Profar would surpass Kinsler's output as soon as he took his place. That is the difference in the 13 month timeframe and the 27 month timeframe.
I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth. I was simply asking for clarification. You mentioned not dumping Choo's contract so that indicated to me that you might want to keep him for the duration of the contract. I myself don't think it would be wise to trade him until he shows something next year unless someone was crazy enough to trade for an injured player like we did for Prince and like we once did for Justin Thompson. I would definitely sell high if his output increased significantly next season though. I wouldn't wait past next offseason to trade him and if someone in contention wants him next July I would do that.
