Do it. Waste that money.
They backed off of Flowers last year when Det went hard so unless his price drops I can't see them spending big on him. I'm sure that the Fins name will be tossed around for a lot of players but they've said that they will be fiscally responsible following their plan. We will see.

he destroyed his value.
He will be cheaper now.
He screwed himself out of 10 mil per by holding out.
Would be surprised if he plays hardball again.
He may play a waiting game to see who gives him the best offer, but doubt seriously if he plays hardball with teams this year.

I mean they could use a better back. But Gordon isn't all that. He's been a volume guy. If your gonna spend get someone efficient.

Yeah I can see this but who knows someone stupid may come along hopefully its not the Fins! They have the cash to pay a little more but they shouldn't do it just because they have it.

Yeah I'd do 7 M as they need a vet in that group and he's still pretty young. The charger oline wasn't great either during his time there. Most experts still like him. Although Miami has to rebuild most of that line it may take some time there too.

He is still young and a change of scenery might help.

if I am the dolphins. Probably.
But not a long term guarantee.
4 years but only 2 of which I would be stuck with before having an out. Very doable without causing damage to their cap.

Why not sign an older vet dirt cheap and draft a guy? I know you have cap
Space, but he's just not worth it imho

Yeah I know, I'd rather sign Jordan Howard and draft a guy mid round.....cheaper and just as effective

That could happen as well as there are other options but if the price is right Gordon can be a very dynamic back. Maybe I'm wrong and he's done. By signing Gordon they could still draft a back but wouldn't need to use a high pick saving it for another position. That's the angle I'm hearing. I'd rather use a high pick on OT, CB, DE, LB, OG and QB. Take RB out of the equation.

yes agreed this would be the case if they decide to pounce. Get out of it if its not working by the time they are hopefully contending.

yep year one lean on him.
year two find someone you like in the draft.
Year three reevaluate the direction you want to go (young guy or Gordon)
if you go young guy you still have 3 years left on his rookie deal.
If Gordon is working out. Well congrats.

Plus in this day and age having a few RB's on the roster is the norm if not necessity. They need more than one anyway although I can't disagree with SP if too high go with one of the other vets out there. I just don't want them drafting RB in the 1st rd.

yeah I was never sold on him either. Especially when you looked into it & his back ups were doing just as good as him.
He was a fool for turning down 10 per.

Can't disagree but like I said the oline wasn't fantastic either so there is an unknown factor here. Believe me the salary will have to be appropriate or nothing will happen. The Fins may be the only option for the guy driving it down.
