Jason Cole:

Interesting detail, $16 million full guarantee for StL TE Jared Cook is most ever for a TE, surpassing Witten et al. Sets stage for J.Graham

Not at all happy about the Sean Smith information. We certainly could have had him for the money that he got. Very frustrated. Chiefs look like they might have one of the best GM's in the league.

I honestly have no idea why they would pass on Smith at that money. Particularly when they went after him right out of the gate. I hope we get a reason, although I'm sure we won't.

Adam Caplan:

Connor Barwin agreed to a deal with the Eagles, per source.

Jason La Canfora:

Eagles deal with Connor Barwin is agreed upon. Going over a few minor things, and he'll be headed to Philly

Rich Cimini:

TE Dustin Keller has left Mia facility without a deal, but 2 sides will stay in touch. Dolphins likely waiting to gauge market. #Jets

Jason La Canfora:

Strong deal for Connor Barwin in Philly - 6 years, $36M, with the chance to earn a max of $40M including guarantees.

it probably was less about his annual salary and the cap space we have this year and more about the space we need 2 years from now for all of our FAs. The Niners probably wanted 2 years, Smith was offered more elsewhere. I'd rather ensure that we have room under the cap for Aldon, Kaep, and Iupati than risk it for someone like Sean Smith.

That $6m per year Connor Barwin left Houston for could soon enough be earmarked for Ed Reed by the Texans. Things going great on his visit

I wonder what the deal with Richard Seymour is. I haven't heard a single whisper about him this offseason.

There were rumblings that if he was going to play, he wanted to get paaaaid.

Reason we didn't sign Sean Smith easy, Harballke didn't want him. Fret not Niner Fans the Niners have taken a laid back approach to free agency the last two years and got to the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl. Enhance your calm.

It feels like the calm before the storm right now with Manningham agreeing to a pay cut - I think something big is going to break in the next 24 hours. Maybe just a gut feeling, but I think we'll have a different defensive backfield with either a big move like Revis or bringing in multiple players with smaller contracts.
