The Democrats didn't stop campaigning during primary season and it's kind of naive to think this information wasn't available to, at the very least, the senate intelligence committee and House leadership.

It's shitty to have that knowledge and keep it to yourself and act as if everything is okay but there is 0% chance that he was the only leader in the country, let alone around the globe among US allies and beyond, who didn't know more than they said.

Honestly, what in the fuck are you talking about? Other countries DID take action. They stockpiled equipment - we know because WE sold it to them. They instituted NATIONAL policies to limit social contact and their leaders at all levels of government supported them. They did actual lockdowns where people weren't on the streets. They used science to build policy. They didn't bail on the WHO for being too supportive of China, especially not immediately after THEY were very supportive of China. They got bad situations under control in a short span of time. They used contract tracing. They instituted mask policies.

Did all of them do all of these things? Nope. Some of them made mistakes. Sweden certainly wins no public health awards this past year.

But most of these other countries did most of those things. Meanwhile, our country did NONE of those things. We undermined our experts. We still have NO national policy. We don't do any contact tracing. We are forcing schools back open despite transmission being far worse than March or April. We crippled businesses by forcing them to close and at the same time never took the steps needed to make that count. Gatherings of 50 or less? What a fucking joke. I could write a better national policy in 3 minutes. We were lied to over and over. We were suggested to maybe drink bleach.

So yeah... our situation was a LITTLE different than those other countries.
