I don't even think healthcare in Canada is as good as it used to be as we continue to look to cut costs and services and replace RNs with LPNs and healthcare aides that don't have near the training. If nothing else, COVID-19 has certainly revealed that a total overhaul of long term care nursing homes is required.

Is it true that in Canada if you want to get a Brazilian the government pays for it?
And if so - do you have to be born there to receive this benefit or can an immigrant receive this benefit as well?

re: the brazilian - no, but if they cut you, that's covered.
massages are covered through work benefits, fwiw. not sure about the happy ending ones.

immigrants, refugees, babies born from birth-tourists... anyone.
you just need a health care card and you are good to go.

Just to expand on the massage sitch. Extended health plans usually cover massages in regular ole spas as long as they’re performed by registered massage therapists. But the rub is finding an rmt who offers the rub and tug

Good on Trudeau. It’s actually terrifying how many “important” names in Canadian politics were signed to that letter - basically a who’s who of the Mulroney & Chretien years.

The Chinese today admitted they’re holding two Canadians hostage because Canada is complying with their international obligations regarding extradition with their largest trading partner & friend. I know everyone knew it already but it’s still pretty galling.
