I listened to Cooley's grades for the offense players for the game against the Giants. Cousins got a 6H.9 on Cooley's 10 system which is a D+. He said every INT was Kirk's mistake for various reasons. He likened Cooley's first INT to a guy hitting a bad drive while playing golf. Instead of trying to slow down and hit a better drive on the next hole he tried to swing harder and then harder still. He thinks Cousins will bounce back well but man the next game is in prime time which we suck in and agaisnt a very good team.

There has been lots of talk about the line. Polumbus haters rejoice, Cooley gave him a 6.0, the worst grade of anyone on offense. He also said T William had a bad game and I personally thing Trent is playing as poorly as I have seen him play in a long time. He thought Lich played a very good game, Chester played well and LeRibious did some good things and a few bad things but he said he liked what he did and that he worked well with Lich.

I am not saying he is right or wrong, just food for thought.

Sportster... my early take on the next game is... we either get blown out, or shock the world. I havent decided which is more likely yet though.

I saved 40% on my insurance by sending my pain in the ass newphew off to boot camp. Does that count as good news?? :D

I'm thinking we will get blown out and man handled on Monday night considering we absolutely suck in prime time, if Jay Gruden is smart he'd give Seattle a heavy dose of Alfred Morris and Roy Helu

If they just get flat out beat by the Seahawks so be it. However - the Redskins need to avoid simply giving the game to the Seahawks. Cousins needs to stop trying to make brilliant plays that result in INTs & the team needs to cut down on penalties. It would also be nice if kickoffs (which may be few) were booted out of the endzone (might be asking for too much).

Please Redskins - just put a fight - anything else is gravy.

I love Cooley's film breakdown. He was really high on the OG McGlynn, who the team promptly cut and is now starting in KC. He absolutely killed Perry Riley yesterday. Obviously the middle of the defense was lost on Thursday night but he was apparently the main culprit.

Perry Riley should have NEVER been paid. He was/is the most replaceable player on that side of the ball. This league is all about productivity (I know, he made tackles a year ago), that was because the guy next to him didn't. We way over paid for Riley and we could have picked up a vet on the cheap and gotten the same if not better production. Now Riley is showing he really can't cover TE's and his sideline to sideline speed is very much in question.

Apparently you are correct. I was fine with the signing, but like you said maybe he looked better because he was playing next to a 69 year old.

I totally agree with this.
He is good against the run, and can be solid on special teams.
A liability in coverage as we again saw against the Giants.

I didn't get to hear Cooley's film breakdown on the defense because I worked late but he was down BIG time on Riley the day before and just said "I'll talk about him tomorrow." What I did catch he was hard on the coaches saying NY ran a HS offense that was predictible and based on how many men in the box and the Redskins never adjusted.

I know it was envougue to blame Shanahan for the D in the off season but I was never buying that. The word I heard is he made occasional suggestions and that management justified keeping Haslett by blaming Shanahan.

Here is a question for you, when was the last time you thought the Redskins were coached well?

:agree: Yep I feel the same way. That was the ONE time under Snyder this team starting heading in the right direction.

As much as I love Gibbs and he did as well as anyone I guess I never felt like the team was improving. We have never had an actual GM under Snyder. We have had Cerrato and Allen but I don't think of either guy in that way. As Stymie said in another post Allen is a fine president and great at contracts but he has no skill as personnel guy.

Yeah totally agree with the last few posts. I was a Marty guy too and was pissed when he was fired. I don't think there are many of us who bought the whole "Shanny held Haslett back" story, he has never ever never had a top defense. Their DC was sitting in the stands Thursday and goes by the name of Wade. Problem is Gruden and Haslett are tight and go way back. That's the part that scares me.
