I don't see them allowing a two loss team in the playoffs. There are too many one-loss or no loss teams to fill out the brackets. So Auburn and OSU are out

Why would 11-1 non conference champion Alabama with a loss to 2 loss Auburn get in over 12-1 non conference champion Wisconsin with a loss to 2 loss big ten champion Ohio State? Wisconsin and Alabama had nearly identical strength of schedules going into this week, and Wisconsin added an extra win. Wisconsin and Alabama are also similar on game control, and strength of records.

I didn't say Alabama deserves to be in, just that they probably would be. It's Bama. The committee loves them.

Auburn 2017 > Penn State 2016...thus better loss.

Those teams that make their conference championship game are also taking the risk of another loss, player injuries, etc. When you think about it, it’s not really fair for a team to be in the playoffs after 12 games when the others have played 13.

I agree but the committee didn't agree with that last year. It is the buckeye syndrome.

I said last year I was okay with OSU being left out. OSU beat 3 teams Top 10 teams and won their last game. Not saying that it's Bama's fault but teams on their schedule have played badly and they lost their last game. But Alabama has history on it's side.

I don't think OSU gets in with a win. One of their 2 losses was a blowout and the other was at home. Losing to Oklahoma is forgivable, but not both. If Ok wins, then bama gets in over OSU

I agree, and whether they admit it or not the break Ohio State got last year will play a factor too.

If you're a top 5 team and play a top 5 team as your last game and lose then you just lost a playoff game.

That's not how it works now. They don't look at the current rankings and then move people around based on the current week's results.

There are no rules . Last year proved that. I'm just saying if you are a team with playoff aspirations and in your last regular season game played a team who wasn't even ranked as high as you were and lost and now you dont even play in your CCG then you just lost your play off/in game.

Said earlier, if there were 8 this year I'd take 5-8 against 1-4 in the final poll and I'd like the chances of 5-8 to win two of four games. IMHO there is that little separation this year.
