The fact there is only one Center is what skews things. All the other positions have 2 players and the average brings it down because there are a lot more DE, G on their rookie contracts then Centers.

I don’t know if the language is in there but they do have the OPTION. And OPTION is not a contract.
Player signs his 4 year contract. Team says or does NOTHING. For year contract is up and he’s an UFA... no 5 year contract.
What people aren’t getting is that the rights are not a contract. It’s a league wide deal.

When a vet signs for 5 years the team has his rights for 7 with the franchise tag. He’s still signing a 5 year deal. A league wide rule of having rights for 5 years is not a 5 year contract.
It says it in the fucking cap agreement from the NFL but facts don’t dissuade you.
