Then why does the contractual rules say VERBATIM: All rookie first round picks are mandated to sign a 4 year contract? It’s 100% a four year contract but the team has their rights for UP TO 5 years. Rights aren’t a contract. So you are the one who is dead wrong. You don’t understand that “rights” aren’t a contract

That’s not verbatim. You left other critical language out. That’s why you’re a fucking liar.

Ooooh.
Now I am wrong again. First I was wrong. Then I post proof and I’m right. Now that several people are confused that rights aren’t a 1 year contract but you can’t be a man just someone who goes with the crowd.
Having someone’s rights is not a contract.

Want me to prove you are all wrong. Bo Jackson chose baseball but the Raiders drafted him and had his rights but there was no contract. It’s over dude. I understand cause it’s confusing but they sign for year contracts and the team has their rights for 5 years. Raiders had Bo Jackson’s rights... that right wasn’t a contract it was a league rule.

I know infinitely more about contracts than you will ever know. Trust me.

If I understood contracts. Fucking hilarious. You can’t understand that having the rights to a player is not a contract.
well. except for when it is "in" the contract.

See your silly examples. there is no contract.
With Rookie contracts there is.

Major differences.

they dont add the 5th year. That would need an addendum. Which would need more signatures.
It is already included in the contract. (All inclusive)

So yes. it is unfortunate you dont understand how contracts work.

Answer this question.
When 1st round rookies sign their deals is the 5th year option included?

I don’t know if the language is in there but they do have the OPTION. And OPTION is not a contract.
Player signs his 4 year contract. Team says or does NOTHING. For year contract is up and he’s an UFA... no 5 year contract.
What people aren’t getting is that the rights are not a contract. It’s a league wide deal.

Hahaha

You “don’t know if it’s on there”? You’ve only been provided with several links that CONCLUSIVELY PROVES it’s in there!

You’re a fucking liar.

The Niners had the option to keep or opt out of Kaep's contract virtually every year.
Guess what. It is still considered a 7 year contract.

you want an example of options being part of the contract.
Look at Kaeps 7 year 126 mil. contract.
2014 to 2018 each year the niners could opt out of the contract

Yet it was still considered a 7 yr 126 mil. contract.

One of the stupidest contracts ever BTW.

Wrong again grasshopper...

I just flipped a coin and it came up heads. Anyone want to argue with me for 20 pages that it really came up tails? :D

& the rookies sign for 5 years. both still have option years in them.
Thanks for admitting my point

I didn’t admit shit. He signed for 7 rookie first round picks sign for four and the team has his rights for 5. Rights aren’t a contract

Easy to figure out why if you have a brain. There are 18 edge guys making 11 million or more. There are ZERO Centers making 11 million

So that player can decline that option? If not obligated what keeps the player from declining
