My question is WHY DO YOU GET TO CHANGE THE SPECIFIC LANGUAGE OF THE CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT?

It’s not a contract. It’s a 4 year contract with an additional year of rights if they so choose. “Rights” is not a contract.

the 5th year is written into the 1st rounders original contract making the contract for 5 years.
only the 1st 4 go into the rookie pool. Still one contract.
If the 5th year was a new contract. it would need signatures from both parties again. Since it is included in the 1st (original) it is a 5 year contract. Terminology is basically to deal with the cap & the cap rules. Doesnt change the fact it is a 5 year deal. (all under the original Signatures/Agreements)
