@PhoenixEagles1 don't duck the question:

OK. Let me ask you this

Rookie signs the contract.
Team exercises the 5th year of said contract.
Rookie says "I only signed a 4 year contract"
Team says "you signed a 5 year contract"
Who prevails in court?

Answer directly. Do not respond with "reporter said"

They gained an extra 2 million on top of the 18.6 million they desperately need. The Eagles didn’t fuck Foles. Foles agent asked for the 2 million buy out. Foles exercised that. They didn’t fuck Foles anymore then Dallas fucked DLaw.
No they didn't gain an extra 2M in cap space.

Here’s what would happen. The judge would say, “Rookie, indeed you are right. You signed a 4 year contract. Just because other rookie first round picks signed for four years and they walked it doesn’t mean you can. Because when you and all other first round picks signed your four year deal the contract says if they team chooses to later turn it into an extra year and pay you a large sum you have to fulfill that. Just because the other 1st round rookies got to walk after there four year were up that they signed doesn’t mean you get to also. You see son, you all signed only for four years and some of the other first round picks got to choose a new team after four year, you’re team later decided to change that four year contract into an extra year. Though you didn’t sign a 5 year contract because no rookie 1st round picks can per the NFL agreement stating ‘All first round picks are mandated to sign a four year contract, you were one of the few who had there 4 years extended. Sorry the other first rounders who signed 4 year deals got to walk after four year you can’t”

Yes, yes they did and both Eagle fans who follow the team told you this. The refunded 2 million was applied to unused cap money from 2018 and it was rolled over from 2018 to 2019. Sorry you are completely and totally wrong. Dallas rolled over like 10 million in unused 2018 monies.
Luckily you’ll get SteelersPride, Schmoopy and DoubleDown to run with you and call the Eagle fans idiots... but you are wrong.

I have to say I was apparently wrong about the Eagles cap savings being the same no matter if the picked up or declined Foles option.

By Foles paying back 2Mil the Eagles save 18.8 Mil towards the cap, and apparently had the Eagles declined the option the full 20 Mil would come off at no cost.

NFL salary cap: Where Eagles stand with increased 2019 cap, 7 potential cap casualties, 8 free agents | Nick Foles, Jason Peters, Timmy Jernigan, more

QB Nick Foles
2019 cap hit: $20.6 million (mutual option)

Savings: If the Eagles decline Foles' option, the $20 million will be cleared off the books at no cost.

Verdict: The Eagles will almost certainly decline Foles' option, and that alone will put them a few million under the cap. Foles will likely pursue a starting job elsewhere but if he can't find it, perhaps he'll return to the Eagles again as a backup.

The cap rollover occurred before the option was picked up therefore before Foles bought his way out of Philthy.

Eagles will carry over $6.1 million of cap space into 2019

The Eagles next decision regarding the salary cap will be their call on Nick Foles, who has a $20 million option owed to him by February 12. The Eagles will save $18.8 million in cap space if they move on from Foles, so expect them to decline the option and get into the green in time for the start of free agency.

Nick Foles

FEB 6 2019Declined a $20M option for 2019 from Philadelphia (PHI) with a $2M buyback payment, clearing $18.8M of 2019 cap space

So who prevails in court?
The rookie who says he has a 4 year contract
or the team who says he has a 5 year contract.

Answer the question directly without twisting it.....

Team exercises the 5th year of said contract.
Rookie says "I only signed a 4 year contract"

You all lose...

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fo...6/how-to-negotiate-a-rookie-nfl-contract/amp/

The cap mandates rookie first round picks sign for four year.

Good night and @Schmoopy1000 @SteelersPride @Tapey @dbldwn711 can all suck my dick.

Bwhahaha

Your OWN quote says it’s five years. You cut the quote off and ignored the part that proved you wrong.

Here’s the WHOLE sentence...

Again, the cap mandates that first-rounders sign four-year contracts, which give the team the right after three years to exercise an option for a fifth year.

That’s a 5 year contract dumb dumb.

I find it odd for a guy who constantly says gay jokes are wrong would ever tell another guy to suck his dick.

If someone says:

“I just signed a contract that guarantees me money for 4 years and gives the other party an option to keep me employed for a 5th year”

OR

“I just signed a 5 year contract that guarantees me 4 years of employment but leaves the 5th year of employment at the discretion of my employer”

Any reasonable person would say both of those are 5 year contracts. I guess the key word is “reasonable”.

My point is that it’s all in how the reporter DESCRIBES the contract. These reporters are choosing to describe them as “4 year contracts with the club having a 5th year option” rather than “a 5 year contract with the club deciding whether or not to pick up the 5th year”. They are both the same thing: a 5 year contract!

Ohhhh so you’re finally giving in and now negotiating. If I admit Ive been wrong before then you’ll admit you’re wrong here.
I’ve been wrong several times. I once said Fletcher Cox was the best DT in the NFL and Donald is waaay better. I said Dallas lost a game because time ran out when Dak accidentally lined up under a guard and someone showed I was wrong. I remember fighting with Dallas fans about Cole Beasley and Beasley had a great year and proved me wrong. I’ve been wrong several times even though I hold steady on Centers.
Ok, your turn. You can now admit rookie first round picks sign 4 year deals.
im not negotiating wtf are you talking about, im barely part pof this convo, i keep responding to others and u keep nut swinging me into the conversation

here we go................heres one example, since again, your forget about the 10 yard thing, yet you never forget, and never get confused

36 inches. Jesus... incredible. The entire point we started talking about was Dak doesn’t throw the ball down field and he didn’t complete a pass over 9 yards and I should have said 10. Unbelievable
View attachment 191382

there i circled for u that green dots are completions, and then circled the ones beyond the 10 yard marker. Proof. now you can apologize to me.
Not one is beyond 10 yards. 36 inches and the point we were talking is he didn’t throw the ball more then 9 yards. Incredible.
dude u can see the line wtf. ok and he did, we can see that its at the 10 yard marker. so he threw further than 9.
I’m cool brother but no one ever admits there wrong on here and now arguments come down to inches. I started a thread once saying Fletcher Cox is the best DT in the NFL and came back and said I was flat out wrong watching Donald. I said that Beasley sucks and he went out and had 800 yard season and I said I was wrong... and that his hands were phenomenal. Don’t think anyone on here has ever admitted they were wrong
The announcers said Dak didn’t complete a pass for more then 9 yards. “Oh my god Oh my god PE1 is sooooo fucking stupid. He completed one for 10 yards. Jesus, I need to stop with the stupidity.
I mean I get taken to task daily because an All Pro QB that went 11-1 last year and was most likely going to win MVP because I said he was fantastic. It’s just stupidity.
I get called a fucking moron because I said our GM is good at taking care of cap issues. All the Cowboy fans come out and absolutely crucify me for saying something as innocuous as that and I post 6 articles saying he is a cap wizard and has a reputation as one of the best capologists and they say, “Oh, the writers are all just ball washers”.
Don’t understand why people just can’t say, “My bad, you’re right”

hmm i guess you forget easily, like i said, you cant remember your own shit
