“The cap mandates Rookie first round picks to sign 4 year contracts”

At least Tapey was man enough to admit he was just fucking with me when I prove you’re wrong... and you still can’t accept they don’t sign 5 year contracts. Just say, “My bad”. and move on to the next argument. You were wrong, no big deal. Don’t fight it, accept it.

Angry and wrong is no way to go thru life.
But you make a helluva tomato juice. Probably helps with moving all those goal posts:martini:

I know brother. It’s all fun and games and I’m not directing it at you. I deserve to be piled on for being a jerk off most of the time but it’s so wack that people all band together and try to act like I’m wrong when I wasn’t. I even got guys saying “I’m a professional contract writer” and SteelersPride agreeing with me then when he sees all the fools disagreeing with me he changes his stance to run with everyone else. Good night and I’m sure we will fight again brother
remember when u keep ignoring things i say. Then wanna comment on me. Remember when u were wrong, u said u were never wrong

What you put in quotes had nothing to do with me calling you angry.

But if we stay on it, I'm sure you'll try and spin it that way.

WITH A 5TH YEAR OPTION MAKING IT A 5 YEAR DEAL. I FEEL BAD FOR yp honerstly

“The NFL cap mandates rookies sign 4 year contracts”
Give it up dude. That does not make it a 5 year contract. It’s a 4 year contract that the team agreed to and they can keep it at 4 years if they want. Does that mean the rookie signed a 5 year deal? Absolutely fucking not. Wanna know why? “The NFL cap mandates rookie 1st round picks sign four year deals”.

I’ll never win an argument with you because even when I show you the cap language verbatim you still can’t say “My bad”

How about this... I’ll agree to the fact that I’m angry cause you proved I am. You can agree to the fact nfl 1st round picks sign 4 year deals.

just acknowledge the post I wrote to you, which are facts. It all by itself explains it is a 5 year contract. it is not separated from the 4 year contracts all rookies sign. it is apart of it.
4+1 equals 5 years. all rolled up in one shiney contract.

"Every player selected in the first round of the NFL Draft will automatically have a Fifth-Year Option added in his contract. This option cannot be separately attached to the player contract."

"The Fifth-Year Option is non-negotiable, and the non-compensation terms from a player’s rookie contract will be transferred to the fifth year."

you lose! :boink:

these are undeniable facts.

Ohhhh so you’re finally giving in and now negotiating. If I admit Ive been wrong before then you’ll admit you’re wrong here.
I’ve been wrong several times. I once said Fletcher Cox was the best DT in the NFL and Donald is waaay better. I said Dallas lost a game because time ran out when Dak accidentally lined up under a guard and someone showed I was wrong. I remember fighting with Dallas fans about Cole Beasley and Beasley had a great year and proved me wrong. I’ve been wrong several times even though I hold steady on Centers.
Ok, your turn. You can now admit rookie first round picks sign 4 year deals.

No they aren’t. The terms and money is specifically for 4 years. At the end the team can say it’s now a 5 year deal or they can just keep it a 4 year deal. That’s why it’s a 4 year deal with the team having the right to keep it at four years if they want or not.

Like I said earlier and you may have missed...
If your boss says I’m gonna give you a 4 year $400,000 contract. After 4 years I’ll let you know if I want to keep you for another year or not do you go home and tell your family you just signed a 5 year deal? No!

When you sign the contract, you are agreeing with 5 years service for that team with the 5th year being at the sole discretion of that team. You are signing a 5 year contract. This is not "let's make a deal"

Fuck, you’re impossible. Even when I post undeniable truth you can’t say “My bad. I was wrong”. I post NFL contractual rules and you still can’t be a man. Tapey withdrew when he saw the facts. Now SteelersPride is saying if I admit I was wrong before he will admit he got it wrong. But not you. I post verbatim contractual proof and you’ll still come up with some mumbling, fumbling bs. Shall I say it again? “The NFL cap mandates rookie first round picks sign 4 year deals”
Just because a team can choose or not choose to change the contract the rookie first rounder never signed a 5 year deal... because the contractual agreement won’t let them. What if a rookie signs a 4 year deal and the team keeps their mouth shut and he becomes a FA after 4 years. They did or said nothing (The team) where is the 5 year deal? There wasn’t one. The team doesn’t have to say a word and he’s a FA after 4 years. Where’s the 5th year deal? There isn’t one because the rookie didn’t sign for 5 years.

The NFL cap rules mandate the rookie first round pick signs a 4 year deal. That is verbatim from the league agreement. Just because the team can later say “We want to change your 4 year deal to a 5 year deal” 100% does not mean the rookie signed a 5 year deal. If the rookie after 4 years says OK I’m coming back next year cause I signed a 5 year deal (In your opinion) doesn’t mean he signed or has a 5 year deal. You are confusing the fact that a team can later say we are deciding to extend your contract doesn’t mean the rookie signed a 5 year deal.

That’s why the league agreement says verbatim “The NFL cap mandates that rookie first round picks sign 4 year deals” VERBATIM

When faced with the facts, you run to a different distorted view. Pathetic.

I suggest counseling.....

Because I brought up the fact that espn, nfl.com and every single newspaper in the country agrees with me means I’m using distorted views and need counseling? That makes no sense.
But when I linked the NFL contractual agreement that the “NFL mandates rookie first round picks sign 4 year contracts” was the nail in the coffin proving you are wrong.

OK. Let me ask you this

Rookie signs the contract.
Team exercises the 5th year of said contract.
Rookie says "I only signed a 4 year contract"
Team says "you signed a 5 year contract"
Who prevails in court?

Answer directly. Do not respond with "reporter said"
