Getting the start against Tampa is a golden opportunity for Foles. However, I am concerned that he may try to hard. He knows that he must have an outstanding performance to convince any doubters that he may deserve to be a starter.Also tampa has a good defense, so it will not be all that easy. THAT BEING SAID, I AM A FOLES FAN. WHEN THE EAGLES FALL BEHIND IN A GAME, I AM CONFIDENT THAT HE WILL LEAD THEM BACK TO GET THE WIN. I DON'T HAVE THAT FEELING WITH VICK. imo.

Everything that Foles does wrong will be overshadowed by the win. The Bucs are the best thing he could ask for because they will find a way to lose.

I don't think Foles is going to try too hard as in trying to force things and playing out of his comfort level. I also don't think he gives a rat's ass about convincing his doubters. But I think all pro players are like that. You have to be. you have to wear blinders out there.

At least I hope he doesn't try to force things.

I'm a bit of a Foles doubter but I liked what I saw against the Giants and I'm excited to see what the kid can do. I have a differing opinion than others on here. I am confident in either Vick or foles at QB. With the way the offense is playing (I know it can be better) I am confident that either of the QBs would be able to drive the eagles to a win even if they are behind or otherwise.

The criticism leveled at Vick this year is just hate and has no football validity since he hasn't played terrible and in fact has played well except for stretches here and there. And if anyone says that Foles will not go through stretches like that they don't know football.

I'm all about the Eagles winning. i don't care who is at QB as long as the Eagles win. and I feel that either QB is capable of getting the Eagles a win. I have said it before I'll say it again - it isn't about the QB - it is about the defense. How well the defense plays will be the benchmark on the Eagles success or failure.

Just stop. This argument is equally as insipid as saying people don't like Vick because he's black. Neither stand up to inspection.

Vick (himself) has not cost us a game, yet, this season. But, in critical moments late against both SD and KC, he came up small. The numbers don't lie -- since the beginning of last year, across the board, Foles has outplayed Vick in game action.

Foles is the man for getting the Eagles downfield quickly. He's got a great arm, accurate, and he's somewhat mobile. Vick should be the alternate.

That says much about Foles' offensive ability. Yes, he just won the starting job. But Kelly may go the Reid-McNabb route - "Vick is my starting QB", and then Foles will have to prove it all over again it in another game after sacrificing some wins.

I think (hope?) that Kelly is smarter than that. He's going to need to win games to stay in the good graces of both ownership and the fans -- and, from everything we've seen, Foles gives you the best chance to win each football game.

This^^^. not only is this true, but if Kelly switches back to Vick, he will be run out of town like there's no tomorrow. Kelly better play this smart. Vick should be in the backseat now. Actually Vick should have been backup from day 1.

What he SHOULD do is claim that Vick is still banged up, whether or not it's true. That allows him to start Foles against Dallas, and get another chance to look at him against a decent opponent. If Foles plays well, again, you name him the starter. If he has a bad game, Chip can put Vick back in without too much pushback.
