After thinking about this a little more over the weekend, my expectation for the Flyers may have gone up. If Bryz really was the missing link, then why is the top spot in the East out of the question? The scoring will be there, the defense is there, and now goaltending. I really think the question will be the powerplay. If it's in the top 5, they could definitely take the division, if not the conference. If it fails, then they could be scratching for a 6-8 spot. Just my opinion.

Why is the top spot out of question? Their missing link last season was a netminder. They have that now, but they also have a completely remodeled team that may not mesh. It's one thing just adding one piece to the puzzle and making it work, it's another doing a major facelift. I think we will know after October if this team will gel or not.

The Flyers will be interesting because of so many changes and the chemestry may take a while. It look's like the goaltending should be better and that is number one priority.

It will be interesting to see what style they decide to play.

Offensively, I don't see how they got any worse. Carter couldn't hang on to the puck to save his life, considering all of the missed and bad angle shots. I see that as improved puck possession. Richards put up some respectable points, but this gives Giroux and Briere more ice-time, which should make up for it (to me). The defense didn't have as much turnover.

Chemistry is a huge factor, but a 'lock' doesn't give a whole lot of freedom. This should make it easier for those guys to gel. After the first month, I don't there will be any issues.

voracek - 20
schenn - 15
jagr - 20
simmonds - 15
Total - 70

richards - 30
carter - 40
leino - 20
versteeg - 15
Total - 105

I think the increased ice time for jvr/giroux + their progression + bryz in net, can make up for 35 goals.. and IMO that's the max they'll have to make up.. i see the top guys projections as worst case for them, and the bottom as best case

Even if they don't make up the 35 goals, I'm sure Bryz can stop the 35 against.

Why the hell am I arguing in favor of these guys?!

No. Don't do that! I'm not... #&*!

Anyway, you had mentioned the combo, with him as a factor. I really think that the goaltending circus was that bad last year. -35 against shouldn't be much. This is from a division rival.

The first step to changing teams is admitting you like one better than your current one

ask Sly, i heard he wrote a book on it! :deadhorse:

Ok, thanks. It's a good thing I'm a Penguins fan then. I couldn't imagine hating the team that I root for. :thumb:

I got my hockey news today. Jagr photoshopped onto the cover with a Flyers jersey. Wow.
