Obviously everybody focuses on Carter and Richards, so I'll skip them.
I think the Leino and Versteeg departures will hurt more than people think. You're talking 53 and 46 points, respectively (though Versteeg's production down the stretch after the trade wasn't what they would have liked obviously).
Talbot, although a SC hero, has a career high of 26, and Schenn is obviously a mystery given his grand total of 9 NHL games to date.
Voracek and Simmonds should be great additions though.
Net though, I think more points walked out the door than came in, so the key will be whether Philly can successfully re-position themselves as a D first team they'll be OK.
Of course, the selfish opinion in me hopes they finish poorly, or at least below the Sabres
i think verseeg's departure will have 0 effect on the team to be honest.. he really did nothing for the flyers.. i think he had like 13 points in like 40 games with the team (including playoffs).. shame, i was really excited when they traded for him.. i think he can be a very good player, but he just wasn't for the flyers
leino.. leino is such a wild card to me.. if he plays like he did in the playoffs 2 years ago, he's a HUGE loss and a HUGE gain for buffalo.. but if he plays like he did for most of last year, i dont think he's a big loss either.. his hip issues are a big issue and when thyre bothering him he is not a presence on the puck, and when he isn't a presence on the puck, he doesn't do anything for you.. his only real valuable asset is the ability to skate around the offensive zone without giving up the puck, but when his hip flares up, he falls more often then not when he tries to control the puck.. when on, he's a puck control master with above average vision that you can run your offense through.. but as a flyer i'd say he was only on for about 40-50% of the games.. he's really boom or bust, you either notice him as your most dangerous offensive player, or his name doesn't called the entire game
