assuming weber would take 8/yr.. but as an RFA he doesn't have a ton of leverage.. but, even if 8 isn't good enough, there's some wiggle room, plus garrison at 4.5 is a little high i think

I understand why the Flyers would want to keep Carle. It's just that the market is shrinking. Garrison & Wideman are going to get PAID.

I am still kinda worried about trading for Nash. I could easily see Mez going to CBJ. You all know that I love him, and Id be okay with moving him. But JVR/Mez/+ for Nash is nearly the same in cap, plus resigning V, Jagr, and Carle. So then we have Nash, but worse D.

Detroit is the team that bothers me. They've lost two defenseman & have a lot of cap space to work with.

Guarantee Suter will end up in Detroit. Pretty much can sign a blank check. It's a very good hockey town. Can't see how he wouldn't go there.

No. I thought Tim Kerr loved Briere. Hell, he ripped me for mentioning any trade in regard to getting rid of him. His argument was always " just wait till the playoffs." can't argue with that. Dude does a disappearing act during the reg season and then all of the sudden he's putting up sick numbers in playoffs.
