In other words they have lots of money unless the cap drops to 65 mil.

Does anybody know if the cap has been set for next year yet, because don't they have to have that set before the bad contracts get added in free agency on July 1st.

By the way AWAZ no way do I think the cap will rise to 70mill from 64.3 it was last year.

Awaz my bad, the cap is set at 70.3 temporally. No wonder why teams have so much cap space right now. Pens and Wings could add Parise and Suter right now easily, fuck.

Yup and exactly my words. Pitt would be scary if Suter and Parise signed.

Fuck those cocksuckers.....if the cap goes up they won't get both because there would be more competition for them. But if they do happen to sign with pens I will lose it!!!!!!!!

I'd bet gOod money parise doesn't sign in Pitt. Ed said he wants to be 'the guy' and he also said he wouldn't sign with a rival. Nj or minny is my guess.

Suter to the wings. I'd bet good money on that too

I'm with you. Suter to the Wings is what I've been saying all along. Parise is the one I'm unsure about.

News on Garrison, Clemmensen

Tallon also said the Panthers' most prominent free-agent defenseman, Jason Garrison, has been offered a contract and that while he is "optimistic,'' intimated that the franchise has plenty of young, talented defensemen to take his place if they had to.

"It's a matter of whether we can afford it or not, that's what it comes down to,'' Tallon said.

Should we still go after this guy, if he goes on the market and the $ is available?

Tallon said that Garrison is the only Panthers free agent he's dealing with, meaning that Clemmensen ... will be allowed to test free agency.

I still like the guy, but if carle is resigned there isn't a need for him I don't think. that would push.. Schenn? Mesz? Carle? To 7th dman.

I'm hoping mesz has a shot this ear. Sometimes he does sometimes he doesn't.

Looks like that's the way it's going to go down if Carle is signed:

f the Flyers sign Carle, would they still be in the market for another defenseman?

"Probably not," Holmgren said.

Assuming they retain Carle, then, the Flyers are unlikely to go after University of Wisconsin product Justin Schultz, a promising young defenseman who was drafted by Anaheim in 2008 but did not sign. Schultz will be among the most sought-after free-agent defensemen.

So looks like if Carle signs ~ July 2, we're sitting tight on D. Only big move now might be for a forward.

I heard a rumor that the Flyers do have a deal in place to resign Carle, but have to wait until the new CBA is done. Not sure how true it is? It would nice to have this done before July 1st.

Yeah, the article brings that up - they have to wait until after the first.

For the love of god can we get rid of some shitty contracts like Shitty, Walker, Lija and whoever else is irrelevant. Lija has a small cap hit. It's more about Shelly.

If Parise wants to be "the guy", then he should be going to Minnesota. Send him to the Western Conference, and keep Suter there to, he can replace Lidstrom, or even better, go to Minny also.

Resign Carle and Jagr, and add a good depth forward and a backup goalie then.

Harts-G-Jagr
Simmonds-Briere-Schenn
Vorachek-Read-free agency plug
Talbot-Cooter-Wellwood
Rinaldo/Sisito

Schenn-Timmonen
Grossman-Coburn
Mesarjos-Carle
Gusty/Bourdon

Bryz
free agency plug

Anybody else like M.Leighton back? I think he would be fine after having an allstar season with the Phantoms. He would be cheap to.

Leighton works for backup I guess. Jagr is probably history. Carle sounds like we have him locked up from what I've been hearing. I still think we should check out what the pricetag would be for Gaustad or snother good specialty guy.
