i really dont think it changes much.. people think wideman got overpaid, prior to the schenn deal i wanted/would've taken him for 5 mil/yr.. he only got 5.25, its not that much 'overpayment'.. the guy had a bad second half of last year, he's a damn good dman with a good shot and a big body

the only players i think it (plus gill resigning in nash) will effect are suter and garrison, because they are the only ones that haven't 'all-but-signed' somewhere

carle could go back on what he's apparently agreed to with homer, but i dont think he will

If Homer wants him back and he backs out, fuck it go with Gusty, this guy can be good and then you save $ then.

Andy Strickland report. Carle may want to play in Colrado where he played college hockey. Sounds like BS. Second, if Suter leaves elsewhere, Weber will not sign long term deal. That may force Poile to trade Weber. If this happens, they msg target Jaybo. We have to seriously look into Weber here.

Weber will be too damn much.

I'd go with Gus,and see if Lauridsen finally earns a spot.No need to make trades just to say they did.

I'm ok with the players they have now.

If carle asks for too much fuck em may as well pay suter the money at least you have a player that you can trust in all situations. He will also eventually replace kimos cap hit. Cap looks to be set at 70 k anyway so that's cool.

Pretty comical that pens paid big dough for a potential vegetable. Glad Flyers aren't in that predicament!

Carle could be heading to free agency.

While talks are said to be continuous and amicable, and Carle's agent was forthcoming about his client's wish to stay in Philadelphia, the door was left wide open for a quick escape. Here's Kurt Overhardt:

“We continue to talk to them but I wouldn’t be surprised if he is available on July 1. But we’re going to continue to talk to the Flyers. Just move forward accordingly.”

I've read elsewhere the price could go up to 6 million.

I was saying in another post that I'm starting to think Carle may be gone. I am Also worried that Parise is going to Pitt. Would not surprise me if Pitt got Parise, Suter, and maybe Doan.

I think Carle wants to play in Philly, but I don't think he's coming in under 5 mil. The bold would not be a good thing.

Pitt has ton of cap space to offer a lot of money to all 3 guys. Not too mention they have an owner who is a very popular guy in the NHL. I would also add that Shero is probably one of the best GMs in the NHL. It's tough for me to swallow this if Pitt gets these guys, even if they get one of them.

Yeah, when Shero moved Staal, I knew he was up to something. And Crosby took one for the team with that contract - he obviously wants them to bring in someone who could take the Pens to the next level.

It's going to be interesting for sure.

pens might get doan (still think he signs in phoenix though), but i dont think theyll get suter or parise.. the way this offseason seems to be shaping up though, i think parise and suter are going to be albatrosses wherever they go, i dont want either of them

There's no way the pens end up with everyone. I think doan will stay in phx too. Would love it if he came here though!

Tomorrow I would like to see any of these guys in O&B

Prust, Knuble, Armstrong, and Allen

And I may get shot for this, but I keep an eye on Semin. I am intrigued.

Prust wants too much money but otherwise he's cool. Allen yes the rest no way. Knubles an old slow fossil....sorry like him but not on this team now.

I want Suter signed and Carle gone but I don't feel that's realistic now, so instead I'd rather see several smaller signings and a big trade.

Re-sign Vorachek, Sestito & MAB.
Sign Allen & one of the following(Prust, , Moore, or Tootoo) for some grit and depth.
Sign Clemmenson or Mason.
Then trade for Read, Gusty & a 1st(might have to include something else) for Ryan.

I think those moves would be more then sufficent to put us in good postion for a cup run and would save us some $ so we can re-sign guys next year and take a run at Weber.

With all do respect, seeing the fucking Pens clear out an ungodly amount of cap space and then sign Crosby/Niskanen to hometown deals just makes me want to fucking puke and ultimately hate them that much more.
