A few more toughs:

Kimmo isn't earning any kind of extension. I think he has (finally) hit the wall.

Coburn was actually quite solid tonight.

We do an excellent job of clearing the porch.
Yeah Kimmo wasn't good tonight

Team stopped skating in the 3rd. You cant have a 1 goal lead at home in the 3rd and not even get a point.

1. Read
2. Simmonds
3 Grossman

Tough loss they played well for 40 on the verge of taking them out but couldn't close it. Lot’s of good play tonight all lines had their moments but just not enough.

Getzlaf Perry dominated they had a hard time but so does everyone. Streit has been good but there was no reason to pinch on winning goal in his own end. He's the goat.....

1st star-my heart for holding up while I was fucking losing it over this fucking game

2nd star-the fans who stayed for the whole game. This was only due to the fact that they had too many beers during this fiasco, and probably fell asleep.

3rd star- the Zamboni driver-the only guy who knew what he was doing on the ice.

Yep. I may have sent my first, 'blow it up' text today. Talented team, but they're in complete disarray with each other. Embarrassing performance today. All around.

Let's see how they come back tomorrow. It doesn't look good but blowouts happen and they are very fragile. Losing players doesn't help either. Not a lot going right...but we'll see. i

1. Raffl - I thought he was all over the place tonight. A little more offensive awareness and finishing ability and this guy could be a player.

2. Thought couturier was mighty strong tonight too. Good defensively and showed some real nice puck handling skills

3. Coburn - real strong defensively tonight and put a few nice point shots on net

Honorable mention: Emery. Wasn't tested a whole lot, but stopped everything he could so he's gotta at least get mentioned.

Giroux gets the goat tonight. Henrique should have tied it up because Giroux decided not to stay with his man. That's unacceptable from the captain and the team's supposed best player. It was sheer laziness. I was already yelling 'stay with your man!' before Henrique even got the puck. (I see it far too often in my soccer games haha)

1) Sean Couturier - He was a beast tonight, played a lot of minutes and was strong defensively

2) Hal Gill/Andrej Meszaros pairing - I thought they were steady and gave them a boost - gotta keep them together for at least the next game

3) Ray Emery - After what happened last night, for him to get the shutout(albeit only 14 saves), it's a good confidence booster for him

Was that the 2 on 1 breakaway in the 3rd where G left his man on the Devils left wing? I know something happened like that in the 3rd

Dead on guys and disappointed in G as well for not coming back. Not sure what Timonen was doing either there...

Ya that's the one. Very disappointing. Hopefully someone pointed that out to him and he doesn't do it again.

When I saw that I was like "What the fuck are you doing!" it was so obvious what he did wrong

Players must come back with their guys especially when the teams having hard times scoring. That could have cost them the game. Things like that make players like Toews and Dats some of the best. G needs to take that step...and then everything else will come together for him.

Stars:

1) Raffl. Not much to say here, he played a great game, caused a lot of havoc, and while he didn't end up with points, he played very well.

2) Couturier. Very strong defensively.

3) Braydon Holtby. The Flyers didn't give him a star when he shut us out on Friday, giving the third to Emery instead. I like the heart Emery showed in that game, but his stats SUUUCKED. This is Holtby's revenge.

Not to give Giroux a pass, but how does anyone not give Matt Read all three goats? The Devils had 5 power plays, and Read took 3 of the penalties. Every time he touched the puck after the third call (the really dumb boarding/charging one that he could have hurt somebody on), something bad happened. Either he didn't clear the zone (because he shot it off a the back of a teammate), or he turned it over, or a hot girl (or guy if that's your thing) got a little bit uglier.

I was watching Read, and every time I saw him on the ice I was calling for him to get OFF of it.

Steve Mason is the goddamn tits right now, but he needs to be benched immediately. Sorry Steve, but your current phenomenal play will not be tolerated. Stop keeping us in games, losing is what is important from here on out.

Steve Mason and Nick Grossmann are in a completely different stratosphere than the rest of this team.

Honorable mention to Hartnell for answering my challenge.

And a hearty fuck you to Claude Giroux. You cost the team the game. You better get out of your funk and start scoring some god damn goals. Now.

Grossmann 's icing was bad, but Giroux shouldve just skated the puck up instead of doing that stupid head fake to waste 2 seconds. You're the best player with a ton of space in front of you, why stand there and force Grossmann to carry it out instead?
