This isn't as hard to figure out as some of us are making it.............Nebraska is migrating back towards the offense of old. They want to dominate on the ground first, ground second, ground third, and through the air last.
When it comes down to it, Lee is gone after this season.......Martinez and Green are both young and can still get much better..........it would be great to hang on to both of these guys throughout the next few years.
Thus the coaching staff is getting together and saying "Ok, here's what Lee can do.................he can snap the ball, he can hand the ball off, and he can manage the game by just not passing the ball at all."
Our offense this year is a different offense than it was last year.........it needs not to be "managed" with so many starters back from last season.........it needed to be tweaked.
It has been tweaked, and now Nebraska has a dominating ground attack........which when combined with a fierce defense, creates a championship contending team. When you can control the clock on offense, and play really good defense........you have a chance to win every game.
