Give the Knicks defense some credit.

We tend to dismiss New York as some 3-point shooting isolation selfish offense.

But, they do have some decent individual defenders. It might not be a cohesive team defense, but sometimes those individual defenders step up.

New York played incredible defense all day. The Knicks defense was outstanding and carried the day.

I'm pretty sure if you could assemble Melo, Shaq and Phil Jackson with some quality role players during that era, you might get similar results.

My predictions

Boston over NY in 7. Yes I know they lost the 1st game today.

Denver over Golden St in 5. Denver is on fire right now.

Brooklyn over Chicago in 7 Another upset pick.

San Antonio over Los Angeles Lakers in 6. Yes they will miss Kobe.

Miami over Milwaukee in 4. That was hard.

Los Angeles Clippers over Memphis in 6. Clippers looking like a threat.

Oklahoma City over Houston in 5. Houston has peaked and is headed down.

Indiana over Atlanta in 5. Atlanta is not that good.

Denver is already proving they will not be long for the playoffs.

They laboured and looked out of sync. The freethrow disparity kept them alive barely. But, those highflying days of regular season basketball disappear in the post-season.

Maybe, they get past vertically challenged GSW, but that style dries up in the playoffs when people play defense.

And more importantly team play post-defense finally....

They would like get blasted by a healthy Spurs or Lakers and the half court defensive big men.

Just saw this interesting stat on espn just now about Melo the chuck.

On 26 touches in the 2nd half, he passed 3 freaking times

and in this game no Celtic could stop Melo who killed Green....they played as they have since Rondo went down, inconsistent and won't win this series. Knicks owned 3-1 regular season with this exact style of play in game 1. A measly 4 pts off the bench for Celtics and all of 8 for KG. Maybe the dark cloud about tragedy still hanging over team....could come out more aggressive next game.

Melo killed Jeff Green? Needing 29 shots for 36 points is good now? 13-29 is not good at all. Boston did a heck of a job on Melo. If they can force him to shoot 44% al series long they have a great chance of making this a 6 or 7 game series.

3-1 but the final 2 wins came with KG in a suit. For Boston to have a chance they need much better production out of Terry, Lee, Crawford, and Bass.

All 4 of those guys need to be in or close to double digits in every game
