Final thoughts about today's incident

By now i assume you all heard about what happened in Ottawa today.

i am a political science student in the University of Victoria( go vikes :P). I want my back ground to be in alot of International relations and security.

I was riding home on a bus today (can't drive) from something for a committee i'm in for Uvic. I was remind of a conversation i had with my mom's friend when we were in a bar. She arrived 5 minutes before this.

MF: "why are you studying Political Science?"
Me: "so i work Anti-terriorism/counter terriorism"
MF: "why? that kind of stuff doesn't happen here?"

At the time i responded by saying to help the states.

Sadly terrorism knows no boundaries, I applaud your career choice and wanting to help your neighbors to the South, I am currently serving in the Army at FT Bragg and have had the pleasure of training with some Canadian Paratroopers and they are top notch Soldiers, I was deeply saddened when I heard the about the shootings today and the death of one of your finest, Good luck in your future endeavors

I love how Americans and Canadians have each other's backs. No other countries enjoy the same partnership that we do.


I was happy to see all the support from the U.S. leaders, the FBI, and the President. I also have to give a ton of praise and respect to the fans in Pittsburgh last night. They stood and sang the Canadian national anthem in a game with no Canadian teams even playing. That was a cool moment.

Remember those guys that blew up the building in OK City? Or abortion clinic fires and bombings, how about shooting doctors? Or the Sikh Temple Massacre here in WI. Remember that? Or any of the other 14 Thousand or so murders carried out in the US every year, all the result of Islamic violence I'd bet
