Let's start off with a cool stat about each team's history in the Final Four:
- Gonzaga: This is Gonzaga's first Final Four.
- Oregon: This is the Pac-12's first Final Four.* Oregon's only previous appearance was, surprisingly, in the very first NCAA tournament, all the way back in 1939.
- South Carolina: This is South Carolina's first Final Four.
- North Carolina: North Carolina has reached over a quarter (20/78 > 25%) of ALL Final Fours ever!
(* Due to the conference name change: the previous time someone from the conference made it was UCLA back in 2008, when the conference was still the Pac-10.)
The North Carolina stat is particularly astonishing to me. That's an incredible level of dominance in a single-elimination tournament. Guess the color of their logo is for the color of their blood, huh?
