Redskins Vs Titans: David Amerson Breakdown - Hogs Haven

very nice in coverage . he did good things there

in run support he did very well also

his tackling quite frankly scares me . he dropped his head and he will get hurt doing that . i think the skins as a hole need tackling drills :suds:

Dropping his head when tackling was a problem for him in college. That is VERY coachable. I think Amerson did very well for his first outing. I hope he can continue to develop. They may have drafted a very talented corner.

This is also a problem for many teams this time of year, thanks to the CBA. Teams haven't been tackling in practice so everyone is rusty.

This is exactly what I said a couple days ago. If anyone watched any other games they would see it's not just the Redskins who had rust when it came to tackling. The entire league had a rough time tackling, and in a lot of cases, had a much harder time than we did. I'm not worried one bit about tackling at this point, I'm more worried if someone doesn't understand schemes or just looks completely lost/out of place.

I said the day the Redskins drafted Amerson that he'd be a good if not great player for us. Should have had a pick, but he can save those for the regular season!!! I expect him to continue to grow and learn and hopefully do big things for us this year.

well hall eventually learned how to tackle so teaching amerson shouldnt be a problem. his long arms should help him wrap up but hes tall so it might be hard for him to get low without dropping his head.

Honestly, I was very impressed with his play the other day. He had good coverage. Not to mention, he made some good tackles, but he needs to keep his head up. If he keeps that up, he'll be paralyzed. He almost got the pick, which surprised me that he dropped it because we all know that he has hands. Still, I believe he will show people why he was the Redskins 1st pick in this year's draft. I know it is only preseason, but you can't help, but have a little bit of optimism with him.

Yeah! It was only the first game, so I believe the whole NFL needs a break for any mishaps, this weekend. One thing I learned about preseason is anyone can look good or bad, but you will not know, until the real bullets fly in week one. Honestly, we all just watch pre-season because it helps our football fix, until the real thing comes. Lol As far as Amerson, I'm not worried about him. I believe he will be a really good player in this league. I'm sure he'll have some :wtf2: moments because he's a rookie. However, I believe he'll remind people why he was the Redskins 1st pick in the this year's draft.
