The band wasn't productive for very long, but Kim Wilson of the Fabulous TBirds had power to spare and also could sing with tremendous nuance.
His interpretation of Wrap It Up puts Sam and Dave to shame IMHO, and that's saying something cuz those gentlemen knew what they were doing.....

I was just thinking of Kim Wilson as well...one of the better "Texas Blues" singers.

I have two or three CDs, but have honestly soured on him over the years. I think the Wolf eats his lunch as a singer.

Honestly I have to be in a deep Chicago style blues mood to listen to either.

It's a coin toss between Muddy & Wolf for me.....and I actually appreciate them both for their excellence and contributions.

Edit:
*Also gonna add Etta James & Koko Taylor into this segment.

I HATE KOKO TAYLOR

She just sounds like a freight train or foghorn to me

Hound Dog Taylor is a Chicago bluesman who couldn't sing or play guitar worth much, but is still great fun to listen to. He basically had two or three songs that he recorded variations of...although Freddie's Blues, named after his wife, is a musical creation unlike any other.
As a friend of mine said years ago, you can't really call it a song...

Meanwhile back to the "rock" genre....as it were...

Sammy Hagar was known to belt out some vocals back in the day...
ie: mainly w/ Montrose.

Jay Ferguson (Spirit, Jo Jo Gunne) should be mentioned as well.

Also....has anyone mentioned Dan McCafferty of Nazareth yet?
