Nelson Agholer is a WR that many on this board drool over and here is a little stat that may just make that drool a little wetter;

Agholor caught 104 balls out of 134 thrown to him for a catch ratio of 77.6%. The next closest WR in catch ratio is Amari Cooper at 71.7% and Tyler Lockett at 71.1%.
This means he catches more of what is thrown to him and drops fewer. It also means that many of the balls coming his way are high percentage passes since he is more of a possession type IMO.
Agholor's yards per catch was 12.6 which is more middle-of-the-road and far from the best. The big play guys were Tony Lippett at 18.4 and Breshad Perriman at 20.9. Cooper was 13.9.
Another interesting stat is that Agholor was 30% of the USC offense. Cooper was 39.8% which is the highest. Lockett was 2nd highest with 37.4%.

So basically this should make everyone want him even more.

I have to admit I am liking him more all the time. Just not sure if I like him at #20. I'd like him a lot more at #30.

Ideally, Chip trades back several spots in order to get Aggy & Jones or Rowe, late 1st & early 2nd.
And then OL(Marpet) and DB(Randall) in the 2nd/3rd. I'd be good with these.

I like Agholer a lot, I also do not see him as a possession receiver, he has gamebreaking skills...However I don't like him quite as much as I like Breshad Perriman. Perriman flat out is a young Terrrel Owens with even more speed. That is a sick weapon to have.

Agholor's been my guy since before he became a known commodity ... so obviously I'd love to see him in Eagle Green. That being said, I still think the pick in Rd 1 should be Corner. WR is stacked ... you can still get a starter at the position in Rd 2. Get your pick of the litter at Corner at 20 ... aside from Waynes of course.

I thinks its a 50-50 proposition that Agholor is available at 52. If he is it is excellent value. If he is not, chances are another top receiver will be.

Trade with New Orleans and get Seattle's 1 and NO 2 for the Eagles first two and you are probably even better set to get a top corner and Agholor. I am hoping that New Orleans wants a player and will do the trade.

I agree with your thinking Dave. After I posted my thoughts, I should have mentioned that N.O. would be a prime target. It depends upon whether or not the Saints want to move up for a particular player. Maxx Williams maybe?
I want a DB in the first too, but I will be disappointed if we don't get Agholor. He's my fave.

I would put the chances of Agholor still being there at 52 at around 5%. At worst I see him being one of the first few picks in Rd 2, but when it comes to the draft there are no sure things. It's a deep enough WR class where teams could have other receivers fit their Offense better or maybe looking for more size or simply not have WR that high on their priority list. In the end though I think Agholor is simply too good and too smart/coachable to drop that far.

Again I've said our best scenario would be to take a DB at 20 (Marcus Peters is still my guy) and then trade up into the first 5-10 picks of the 2nd round to take Agohlor if he's still there. I don't see why we couldn't do a trade similar to the one we did last year to get Matthews (we have a 4th and an extra 5th), and/or use Boykin if you have to to make it happen.

If we can't get Agholor, then I at least hope Chip gets Dorsett. I think one of these 2 guys would do wonders for this offense.

8 more Days!!!

I think you definitely wait on a WR in round one, unless one of the top guys drops. You take a DB at 20, and roll the dice and see which receivers are there in round two, or trade up like we did last year into the early round 2 area to snatch one you really like.

So according to Mayock, there are 8 WRs with first round grades and he expects 6 of them to go in the first round. That leaves two of them slipping into round 2, and I have to agree that it seems like a stretch for one of them to make it to #52. Probably need to get up to around 40-42 to get one.

I really like Agholor and have no problem if we took him at 20. He reminds me a lot of Maclin. Catches everything in site and has good speed. I would love to see Chip be aggressive enough to land Agholor and one of either Jalen Collins, Bryon Jones or Quinten Rollins. He may have to trade up on round 2 to do just like they did to get Mathews last year. In fact the scenario I see as the most likely is a lot like last year, trade back in round 1 and use that resource you get for dealing back in round 1 to trade up in round 2.

I feel if this team goes into the season with the current CBs they are pretty much screwed. They need to add at least one of the group of Kevin Johnson, Byron Jones, Marcus Smith, Wayans or Collins, and it seems unlikely and very risky to expect one of the these guys to make it to round 2.

On the other hand, as much as I like these receivers and would like to see them on the Eagles, I think they can be successful with the current roster. They have Matthews, Huff, Austin and Cooper competing for the outside positions, and they in addition to those guys, they can use Ertz and Sproles in the slot. I would also not be surprised to see Ryan Matthews and Demarco Murray playing some WR. While I agree its not ideal, it is workable, while I don't see the current stock of defensive backs as being workable.

just as long as he doesn't help us get to the SB and then want more money... we should be fine.

DPD, I think you meant Marcus PETERS, not Smith.
I agree with Taz, on trading back and then up in Rd#2.
Also, I agree with Mayock on 8 WRs with 1st rd grades. The remaining 2 that I have behind them are: Rashad Greene, and Sammie Coates. So these 2 could be available @ pick #52.

It would have been quicker to type 'we have Matthews'. I could accept Huff or Cooper as a #4, but seriously, you want them as a starter? No way. Put the veteran Austin in the slot and add a rookie outside or defenses are going to play man and collapse the pocket. That will mean no running game. Not one of our QBs has any mobility. Recipe for disaster.

Give me one good DB, CB or S, and we will be good. Already the best D in the division IMO.

Huff to me was a college system receiver, not a starting pro caliber "starting" WR. I think he can be successful as a jack of all spots role guy, but he's not a guy I'd be comfortable with as our 2nd best WR. Cooper and Austin are complimentary vets, but again, neither are players I'd be comfortable with as #2 options. We need a receiver out of this draft whom we can develop as that 2nd option ... preferably in Rd 2 unless we take one at 20.
