This episode made no sense to me. So much unfinished business and they fast forward a year. We didnt want to see a pregnant deputy, we wanted to see Colin hanks stumble into that crack with his awkwardness not see them together and knocked up. It jumped forward like american horror story. How did Hanks get past the protective father? Was he thrown off the force or quit to become a mailman. Why did they think we did not need to know these things?

Lester deserves to be beat down. now, that I let you come inside me line was priceless, the staple gun attack was cool, the asian chick getting wet for the badass rivaled Elizabeth Banks in 40 year old virgin, but when will he get his beat down?

I assume Gus Grimley (Hanks) just quit to be a mailman. If its really that important, I feel like they'll address it in some small way in dialogue in the last two episode. I'm fine with the time jump and I think its purpose is made known by Bill's story about his adopted African son. He was lost for months and months and then completely out of the blue, they ran into him. That's likely foreshadowing what the time jump is for. A year or so goes by and Molly finally finds the missing connection to crack the whole case.

I'm wondering if Gus is gonna die though. Look at the character names. Molly SOLVErson, obviously she's the one that will solve everything. Gus GRIMley...could he meet a "grim" end?

Good one. ^

Also in that same vein, I believe Malvo is an inconspicuous & contracted way of saying Malevolent ?
His character in a nutshell. A virtual master manipulator and the "devil" himself in disguise.

just a thought.

I didnt get that adopted African son part of the story, I took it as showing how big of an idiot this guy is that he considers this african man his adopted "son". I am expecting the guy to be banging his wife soon. To me it showed how inept this guy is to have been searching for a man son for all this time and just showed what poot Molly has been dealing with for the past year.

I just think they missed an opportunity to show the bumbling relationship, not just going from flower shop to what looks like 6-7 months pregnant.

Just got caught up with Fargo

I'm thinking the African refugee character is actually just some con artist playing the chief.

Can't wait to see what all gets resolved and how it plays out.

Her father seemed to approve of him very much, in my opinion.

And the writers did a fine job of foreshadowing Gus's departure from the police. He talked many times about how he wasn't really meant for it, he shot a fellow officer, and he had talked about being a mailman before. That all made the jump forward seem pretty seamless to me. It would've been much stranger to see him still on the force, IMO. Whether he was kicked off the force really doesn't matter in the narrative.

I get that stuff, its just been most memorable watching billy bob insulting the simple people that I think I was waiting to watch hanks fumble around with her trying to get in her pants. The entire relationship is based on him shooting her and her telling him to not stop sending flowers going to her knocked up. I am not here thinking the story would have gone a different direction, I get how they got here, just thought an opportunity was missed.

my one big problem with last nights episode....knowing what bill bob is capable of, and knowing what he does, in addition to Lester essentially being in the clear and living the good life...why follow him into the elevator and press his luck?

Hell...why did he even go up to the booth where Malvo was sitting?
Lester's hubris and extremely high over confidence will inevitably be his downfall....his past and karma will eventually catch up to him. His days are numbered...his demise is imminent. The sooner the better imho.

He went to the booth because Lester now thinks he can get away with anything. Malvo should have just shot him in the elevator with the other three.

He didn't shoot Lester in the elevator because he views Lester as this sort of plaything that he created. From their first meeting, Malvo basically nudged him into the man he is now. So Malvo enjoys seeing all that stuff play out and what Lester has become. But once Lester hits him and tries to get away, then its "fuck that little prick, it's on".

Just a thought, in the finale preview, it shows Lester panickingly firing a gun at a closed door. My guess is he's going to accidentally kill someone, like one of the FBI agents or Gus who just happens to be delivering a package to his door.
