Callahan said he envisions a more even split between Pollard and Spears, looks like the chuckleheads at NBC added the 3rd RB scenario entering the mix, can't find that part in any of his press conference quotes from today

@averagejoe

Titans blog did the exact same thing as the AI that nbc uses to write their player blurbs.
Took a quote from Callahan about Pollard and Spears, then finished off his analysis talking about Mullings... maybe there is something there, but that really seems like a huge stretch

Aaron Jones 2024, standard scoring:
1138rush yds, 51rec, 7 total TDs - pretty much the exact stat line being discussed

RB20 in pts/game, RB16 in total points

Have to be projecting a significant bump in rushing production for the league in general, 2yrs in a row, if 11.2 pts/gm is no longer top 24
Jones had 400 receiving yards too. That helps.

How many rec yards would Javonte have with 50rec? Prob around 400 or so
52 receptions last year, 346 yds
47 in 23 for 228
43 in 21 for 316

He gets catches, but he rarely does much with them. Nice hands, clean routes, knows where he needs to be to be the safety valve, but his YAC SUCKS

Treff is just never going to see it the way we do with Dowdle last year Monkey. I'll bet he was better than you think he was Treff.

235 carries
1079 yards rushing
4.6 yards per carry
39 receptions
249 yards receiving
5 total touchdowns (not his fault the offense couldn't get in scoring position and when they did they trotted out the washed up Zeke)

186.3 fantasy points in half PPR which ranked 22nd
Even if you go by fantasy points per game it was 11.64 which ranked 25th

Javonte Williams was 32nd in total fantasy points (133.85) and 42nd in fantasy points per game (7.87) and he averaged 3.7 yards per carry and that was with a better offensive line in every aspect of blocking.

Well again..they both are utter crap - however-

being the 22nd or 25th RB in a league of 32 teams isn't a glowing recommendation that inspires in confidence of being better than anyone else.

And as to J. Williams..hard to have per game averages worth a damn when your coach is constantly trotting out McLaughlin, Estime, hell even a FB from time to time, and have a fair comparison to someone with nearly 100 more touches than he had.

Granted, a big reason for that is because Williams wasn't getting the job done, but another way to look at it though was neither was Dowdle except he had inferior competition for touches, so he kept getting them. Hell even Zeke barely touched the ball after week 8 (less than 3 touches per game weeks 9-18)

And finally, once again, just to really drive the point home- BOTH are UTTER TRASH, and if your fantasy team is forced to rely on either, something has gone terribly wrong. But I'd certainly bank on Williams outscoring Dowdle this year. And I think the Cowboys run game will be equally as crappy in '25 as it was in '24, but not markedly worse

The only caveat being- if either Blue of Mufah turn out to be this year's Bucky Irving- obviously that changes everything

I tend to rely on history as a barometer.
Dallas is more elite as a WR corp than a RB corps. So what does alSchottenheimer's history show when thats the case?

his rookie year he had 71 from scrimmage per game, hasn't come close since. 62 in '23, 51 last year. gonna be tough to cash out on that bet.
I also said through the first two months. I think he'll get the volume early. Whether it continues in the second half depends how the other backs develop, and if "I'm finally feeling right after my injury" actually means something this time.

ohhh well, that's a better chance of happening..I would think.

Although he did say pretty much the exact same thing to the Denver media last year

I think it's in the contract language with their agent. "If Client has ever been on PUP, he will declare at the beginning of every camp that he is finally fully recovered and in the best shape of his life."

I say the same thing whenever I get to go on a work trip and take a break from parental duties for a few days

Scott Zolak of 98.5 The Sports Hub said the Patriots cutting Stefon Diggs is a decision that “is on the table.”

This stems from a highly publicized video from last week that featured Stefon Diggs on a boat that featured a pink substance that has been called into question. However, Zolak says, “It’s not just the boat. There are some other things that I’ve heard that raise questions. Are you all-in here?” ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio did a deep dive on the possibility of the Patriots cutting Diggs, noting that while the former Pro Bowler did sign a three-year, $69 million contract with the team this offseason that “until (Diggs) passes a full physical, he’s entitled to nothing,” which could become meaningful should the team decide to explore his release. Head coach Mike Vrabel said following the video that he has been in communication with Diggs, but where things stand between Diggs and the Patriots is anybody’s guess at this time. He continues to recover from a torn ACL he suffered last season and is unlikely to see the field until training camp at the earliest, but it goes without saying that this could be a situation to monitor in the months ahead.

Broncos coach Sean Payton said Audric Estime “didn’t have enough (touches)” last year.

“He’s a back that requires enough touches. He’s going to get those opportunities,” Payton continued. RJ Harvey is obviously going to be the main back for the Broncos for fantasy purposes this season, but it’s possible that Estime could carve out a bigger role in Year 2 ahead of other incumbent backs like Jaleel McLaughlin and Tyler Badie. Payton does love a good running back platoon. Estime should be drafted as the No. 2 back in Denver’s backfield for now, and if the Broncos offense ascends in 2025, he could potentially find himself a fantasy RB3 as Harvey’s 1B.

For reference, Estime had 20% of Denver's rushing attempts. So expect more.

Media gang already sticking the knife in Sam. I hope he has a great year and shuts 'em all up.

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said “This is a crazy question, Sam’s our starting quarterback” when asked if there’s a scenario where Sam Darnold wouldn’t start.

We don’t think it’s completely wild to imagine Jalen Milroe taking over if things go bad down the stretch, particularly with Darnold’s contract not having extensive guarantees into the second season. Still, this is something Macdonald had to say given where the team is at right now. It isn’t exactly comforting for Darnold’s superflex stock that reporters are already asking the question, but we expect Darnold to start and continue playing as long as things are going well for Seattle.

First practice didn't go good for Sam in a lot of ways. Lock had a great practice, Milroe was OK. However first practice doesn't count for much.

I'm still rooting for the guy. I hope he takes the Seahawks to a title.

Until he fumbles again..like he did the very first time he touched it.

I'd be very surprised if he ended up with more than 20% in '25..and if he does, it means Harvey is likely a bust
