Seriously, this kid is that good?

49ers signed WR Brandon Aiyuk to a four-year, $120 million extension.

In a saga that produced more rumors and cryptic social media posts than any contract standoff in recent memory, Aiyuk ends up back where he started. He — understandably — failed to net CeeDee Lamb or Justin Jefferson money, but he’s now in line with Amon-Ra St. Brown. Although he’s probably just shy of being a true alpha, Aiyuk is in the right place at the right time in Kyle Shanahan’s ultra-efficient offense. He’s a safe bet in the WR10-14 range for weekend drafters even after barely practicing this summer. Only 26 years old, Aiyuk should remain a strong Dynasty asset for at least the next 2-3 years.
If they’d been smart and signed him in the spring they would’ve saved ten million bucks atleast.

What about Trent Williams? He is more important.
I agree totally. Have you seen the difference in the numbers for that offense with and without Trent Williams? It won't matter how many skill position guys they have if he isn't on the field.

Even with a freak and one of the best LTs in football, that’s an at best mediocre OL. Without Williams it gets really sketchy.

Wow. Whatever, I guess.

I'll be interested in following Aiuyk from now on, just to see what happens.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports the 49ers offered a third-round pick for Courtland Sutton before signing Brandon Aiyuk to a four-year extension.

Russini reports that, had the Broncos accepted, the Niners would have then shipped Aiyuk to the Steelers. All this is kind of pointless counterfactual, but it underscores the fact that Aiyuk’s return is strictly a business decision for both sides. Aiyuk was willing to play hardball and the 49ers were unwilling to harm their 2024 championship odds. It’s also a clear indication the Niners aren’t counting on instant contributions from 2024 first-rounder Ricky Pearsall.

Year from old stars to younger guys? Seems like more uncertainty than usual top to bottom with rosters

Will it be on ESPN? I was thinking of doing one on ESPN just so I can have their scoring page. ESPN has the best scoring page to watch on Sundays.

I've never understood the reasoning behind drafting a redraft league before the last weekend of August
Labor Day Weekend can throw a wrench in things.

Easy to work around things with online drafts. But in person can tough to find a time.

With you though, sucks to do them early.

Maybe it's not too late! Who's bored?
Suicide is the one where you have to keep your team and not make any trades or ww moves, right? I could do a league like that...
