Fields and Wilson will both be free agents next season as things stand, and whoever loses the starting job will lose a LOT of money in their next contract. Should be a pretty interesting competition.
Right? I mean, by my reasoning, they were better off with RW/Pickett.Well, if he does, he is.
Funny how we were comparing Pickett and Fields just a page ago.
You haven't been in your right mind about Fields ever.Nobody in their right mind thought they would get a future 6th essentially a 7th.
You’re a clown
If he was better than Pickett then he would have gone for a higher pick than Pickett.Right? I mean, by my reasoning, they were better off with RW/Pickett.
Hearing all the crap about RW the past 2+ years, good and bad, watching him up close numerous times due to the effed up NFL tv blackout stuff.. I'm certainly not high on him, not in the slightest.
He's better than Pickett, and outside of desperation, I can't see them choosing Fields to play over him either (unless they're in the hunt, and need him, why would they? Keep the 4th rounder)
Oh fer sure..I mean, we don’t know how the situation played out.
Maybe Chicago waited too long?
Maybe they were offered a 3rd or 4th early in the process and they wanted more?
I could definitely see a scenario where they wanted more, waited and those teams signed another QB. The market fell out.
But we don’t know unless we hear the full story. If we do…
These are types of situations that make you think bad organizations will fuck anything up and I worry about Caleb
The contract matters. Pickett has another year before anybody has to decide about his option, so you get at least two pretty low-cost years out of him. Fields’s back is to the wall this year - Steelers won’t pick up the option by May 1, so either he makes Tomlin give him the starting job and never lets go, or his stock will fall even more and his next contract will be bad, if there even is one.If he was better than Pickett then he would have gone for a higher pick than Pickett.
Pickett is 3 rounds better than Fields. The professionals have spoken on this one.
That's such a joke. Why in the world would the Bears acquiesce to his demands and settle for a 6th round pick with a possible upgrade?I already heard one team was offering better compensation. Now hearing 4 teams were interested

It is the Bears but kind of refreshing to hear it. They wanted to put Fields in a situation he thought was best for his career going forward. I buy someone telling Rappaport that and him reporting it as such... it's his source I call BS on. Quintessential 'smoke up yer ass' scenario. It is the Bears but kind of refreshing to hear it. Makes the Bears seem altruistic, and saves face for Fields
