wow

ESPN’s Stephen Holder reports the Packers talked to the Colts about acquiring Jonathan Taylor.
Green Bay was the mystery second team jockeying for the disgruntled Taylor, who was placed on the PUP list on Tuesday. The Dolphins were also in talks with the Colts, who wanted Jaylen Waddle and draft picks in exchange for Taylor — an absurd asking price. “It remains unclear what the Packers offered or what their level of interest might be moving forward,” Holder said. The Packers will go into the season with Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon splitting backfield duties. Holder said there remains some trade interest for Taylor — reportedly dealing with ankle and back issues — even though he’ll miss at least the season’s first four games.

This is a whole lot of stupid

RBs don't mattrr unless you are trying to trade one?

The Colts are becoming a laughing stock and they're doing it to themselves.

Unless he is getting some shit offers it sounds like his ego is getting in his way

Latest On RB Kareem Hunt
possibly both.

If he thinks he deserves what Zeke got in NE, he's being ridiculous.
If he's getting near vet minimum, its crap offers

My guess is its in between..crap offer and he's overvaluing himself

Colts Wanted Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle For Jonathan Taylor

Doctor Laughing GIF by American Masters on PBS
Wadlle AND picks.

If that's true, than it tells me that Indy was never serious about being willing to trade him to begin with.

Like sticking him on the trade block in a dynasty league, yet laughing off any offers that aren't a starting RB and 4 #1's in return. IF you're not going to treat it seriously, why put it out there?

And that's just crazy..they just overpaid Aaron Jones (IMHO-when Dillon was all they needed) WTF would they do with all 3 of them?

Idiots. Aaron Jones might not be the answer long-term but he is very solid and Dillon is a nice short yardage back. Why do they need Taylor

Jones might be nearing the end of his career as a lead RB, but he's still better than Dillon until I see otherwise, imo

Maybe Jones or Dillion would be part of the trade?
Dillon would've made sense from the Colts POV..imho. YOunger, built to handle the pounding they'll surely be looking for with a 'not ready for primetime' rookie QB running the show

I'd mostly agree. Aaron Jones the better all around back fer sure, but DIllon is better at some things than Jones is, and is younger, and cheaper..which was the main reason why I was surprised they gave Jones that extension. An overall downgrade had they let Jones walk, but they could've easily gotten by with the in house options and had extra $ to use. In this case- they had an 'adequate' replacement already there, ready to go

It boils down to no one knows all the facts.
It's all sensationalized.

Kmet gets hurt in practice. He gets taken off the field on a cart. So you draw the conclusion it might be serious. Add in the fact that there is some ambiguous preseason rule that teams do not have to be specific regarding injury updates.
Social media explodes.
Turns out Kmet was fine. He just didn't want to walk back to the facility.

Probably same thing with Taylor.
Teams read in that he's disgruntled. Indy may send the message he a pain in their backside. So prudent GMs decide to kick the tires. But as we may already be seeing, there never was a realistic shot Indy was gonna trade him.
