OK so few changes.

Its an "Alternate Universe" That seems to be the catch thing now so they can excuse having to follow set content. They are not on earth per say as they are on an alternate earth so don't expect future interactions with anything Marvel, this one is entirely stand alone and Johnny Storm is now black so I'm sure they will work in that Johnny and Susan are foster brother and sister.

There are rumors of Sony and Marvel coming to an agreement to share characters for the MCU (Spidey MAY appear in Avengers 3), so MAYBE we will see the F4 appear someday.

F4, Spidey and Wolverine are pretty big side characters in the Avengers world, and they all need to make an appearance SOMETIME...

I am not a big superhero movie guy. I watch them when I watch them. And the old F4 movies were pretty shit.


However, they got a few of the best up and coming actors for this one so it may be pretty good.

I was never into comics, didn't realize most of them other than super and batman existed. But my son is all up into the avengers, and my wife and I are both stumped who most of these characters are. I never thought to put 2 and 2 together until I watched Super Hero Squad on netflix and it had the avengers + wolverine + fantastic 4 and a bunch of other characters I'd never heard of.

Even when I knew the fantastic 4 existed, I didn't think about them being in the same world as xmen or spider man

Considering this movie was only made so Sony could keep the rights to the series, I don't have high hopes. Same thing happened with the rebooted Spiderman movies, and they were awful.

Edit: Watched the trailer. WTF. Reed Richards is like 20 years old. It's dumb enough making the human torch black for no reason, why mess with the source material even more?

With the way Marvel and FOX seem to despise each other at the moment, I wouldn't count on it anytime soon. Though money talks and I'm sure both sides would listen if it was mutually beneficial.

As for the trailer, it wasn't horrible but it didn't do anything to get me to want to see the movie either.

I enjoyed the Spiderman reboot... Because Tobey MaGuire sucked rectum. But this one didn't need a reboot IMO. I'll probably still watch this, but for free online lol.

It's probably just as dumb. Von Doom is really not Von Doom Sue and Johnny are obviously not related they don't go to space it's a teleporting machine. But I guess we will see can't be worst than Galactus being a smoke cloud.

I couldn't figure out why it got such bad reviews. It never really said.
Is it because it's a clone of the first FF and people are tired of that, or is it crappy acting, or directing, or something else. It's hard to tell.
How can it be awful if its exactly like the first FF, which was pretty good.

Bummer. I heard in some ways it was a breath of fresh air compared to bloated convoluted Age of Ultron as they kept the script and presentation streamlined. But the movie doesn't seem to have put it together. I think it was ruined by the previous movies and a reboot was kind of impossible.

The 4 and Doom just don't seem to translate well to the silver screen. Even the 4 fanboys have to admit this.
