What a travesty. Baseball just keeps getting gayer and gayer. If a baseball player wants to go into the stands for a catch, they should be met with fan opposition. The stadium should give the fans in the front row blunt instruments and tasers to better prepare.

Yes it’s fair, could be worse also, they could have lived Steve Bartman’s life even years after what he did happened, and he was an innocent dude, at least more than these guys who like many Yankees fans are just dicks to be dicks.

Yeah, there are measures taken to prevent it but they could still easily scalp tickets and attend games, they may not even need to go to that length

I believe the punishment is excessive. had the punishment been no seats any closer than 20 rows would have been fine. Yes their actions were bad but an appropriate review would gather something as I proposed.

Everyone deserves a second chance, look at the asshole in Chicago

I have so much admiration for Steve Bartman. He did what any fan sitting there would have done. And he could have milked it for beaucoup bucks. He could still get a six to seven figure payout for his story, even now. Why not, after the way the fans treated him. But he faded into the shadows. Tip my cap to him.

Yeah there was a 30 for 30 (I think?) about his story, it’s honestly sad but you can’t do anything but appreciate the guy and how he handled the adversity.

He had to have a 24 hour police presence in front of his house for weeks because of the death threats. He had to have suffered a ton in the aftermath. And he was offered millions for an interview. And declined. When the Cubs finally won the WS in '16, the Cubs gave him a WS ring and invited him to Wrigley to make amends. He accepted the ring but declined the invite.
