This might be a dumb question but...
I am going to Game 3 of the Finals and was wondering if there was any protocol for wearing your teams gear at a Finals when they didnt even make the playoffs? I know I am going to get a bunch of crap for wearing my Canadiens jersey (though in LA they might not even know that the Canadiens beat them last time with all the InstaKing fans), but was wondering if there was some kind of Etiquette when it comes to this?

The general rule is that it's not a concert; you can't wear another band's shirt to the event.

The better rule in my opinion would be to wear whatever the heck you want (AS LONG AS YOU ARE DECENT IN PUBLIC). Is it ideal to wear, say, Sharks gear for a Rangers/Panthers contest? Probably not, but you paid your dues when you bought a ticket. So the Habs aren't in the finals; it doesn't mean you support them any less, and at least the other folks know you are a hockey fan, doubly so since you are willing to buy tickets to games not involving your team.

The only two rules in my mind are:

A) If you aren't wearing an opposing jersey, you should probably cheer for the home team at the game. Less likely to get beaten up by drunks that way (If you ARE wearing an opposing jersey, be on good behavior, though you still might get beaten up by drunks anyway).

B) Don't wear non-hockey jerseys for teams that aren't playing or in the same city/region. So a Lakers jersey to a Kings/Devils game would be fine, but a Packers jersey for the same game not so much.

Ya, I kind of figured that.

WHAT!? I think you are the biggest fag in the world if you where the shirt of the band you are going to see to that show. Never. NEVER, ever do that. Obviously you are a fan of that band, that is why you are there. You wear a shirt of a different band.

As far as wearing jerseys to games that your team is not a part of... Do it. I have done it numerous times. If you are a fan of hockey first and foremost, fuck what everyone else thinks. So long as you are not being an asshole, it should be all good. Obviously you are going to get shit for it regardless... You're pretty much going to an away away game.

I usually just wear a hockey shirt. Easton, CCM, or something. Although sometimes I wear the Wheel. I don't start Red Wing chants or am a dick about it, but I let it be known where my allegiance lies. I wouldn't even wipe my ass with another team's sweater....Well, maybe a Blackhawk one, because they are so soft....

Wear a shirt and tie. Loosen the tie a bit and roll up the shirt sleeves.

Thats different if you buy a tour shirt. I usually don't cause they are just ridiculously overpriced. When I am in line for a show and I see people wearing the shirt of the band playing, I just laugh. Unless they are a tween or some shit.

lol,, I didnt even read the second half of you post, I am sleeping at my desk. But honestly I understand that though if it is a "tour" shirt. Who the fuck wants to carry a shirt around with them? I still think that is lame, but I understand it.

I dont even wear band shirts anymore really. That died back in like my senior year of H.S.
