lol,, I didnt even read the second half of you post, I am sleeping at my desk. But honestly I understand that though if it is a "tour" shirt. Who the fuck wants to carry a shirt around with them? I still think that is lame, but I understand it.

I dont even wear band shirts anymore really. That died back in like my senior year of H.S.

When I go to concerts, I just don't wear a shirt.

This was the outfit that the doctors would wear in the time of the plague. They would stuff the noses with ptporri and flowers to cover up the smell of the dead, along with spices that they thought would protect them (incidentally, some spices actually are antimicrobial and may have helped). The black outfits covered their bodies to protect them from contact with the bodies. They had to go around to the villages and cities and account for all of the dead so they could see the pattern of disease.

Essentially, I so the same thing just in a Hugo Boss suit.

Poor Doom is gonna be so confused that he'll wear a Kilt, some flip flops, and a Celtics jersey.

On rare occasion, I've worn a tour shirt from the same band that I saw years back, proudly proclaiming "yeah, I saw them on THAT tour." I don't see any problem with that.

HAIL SATAN!!!!!!

The better rule in my opinion would be to wear whatever the heck you want (AS LONG AS YOU ARE DECENT IN PUBLIC). Is it ideal to wear, say, Sharks gear for a Rangers/Panthers contest? Probably not, but you paid your dues when you bought a ticket. So the Habs aren't in the finals; it doesn't mean you support them any less, and at least the other folks know you are a hockey fan, doubly so since you are willing to buy tickets to games not involving your team.

The only two rules in my mind are:

A) If you aren't wearing an opposing jersey, you should probably cheer for the home team at the game. Less likely to get beaten up by drunks that way (If you ARE wearing an opposing jersey, be on good behavior, though you still might get beaten up by drunks anyway).

B) Don't wear non-hockey jerseys for teams that aren't playing or in the same city/region. So a Lakers jersey to a Kings/Devils game would be fine, but a Packers jersey for the same game not so much.

I am gonna wear it!! Though I am not going to root for anyone but Good Hockey both ways.

Its hard to root against the Kings because they are playing such great Hockey and I enjoy that no matter what, plus I spent so much energy and emotion hating hardcore on them when they became the Flavor of the month out here in the early 90s. The Devils were always my second favorite team. I still have a plastic goalie keychain figure just over 25 years old.

Hopefully its a great game that goes into OT and no one gets hurt seriously but that Blood does stain the Ice, with 1 good scrum... Or just like the last Finals game I went to, Game 4 of the 1993 Cup Finals... John LeClairs goal will always be etched in my brain.

BTW, if anyone knows of the top of their head...
Does Montreal still hold the record for most OT wins in a playoff? I think they won 9 games in OT that year.

Well, you may get some crap just because of the LAK history with the Habs. People will probably think you're playing on that. I don't see any issue with it, though I constantly question those people at games.

So do I. But I dont know when I will be able to attend another Cup Finals, so...

And there is no way it can be as bad as when I went to the Raiders game in 99 with my Bucs gear on. Lost 45-0 and still almost got into 3 fights with WeekEnd Raider fans. The real Raider fans were Great and gave me respect. I would imagine it will be the same with the Kings. InstaKing fans will be a problem, but real Kings fan will give me Good Shit for it.

Ya, it was 10. Man what a weird Playoff that season was.
86 Point Sabers beat 109 point Bruins. 4-0
87 Point Islanders beat 119 point Penguins. 4-3
85 Point Blues beat 106 point Blackhawks. 4-0

The Top 4 teams by points were
119 Pittsburgh
109 Boston
106 Chicago
104 Quebec
The Final 4 in the Conference Finals were
102 Montreal
99 Toronto
88 Kings
87 Islanders

Montreal was the 3rd seed in the Adams Division. 4th seed overall in the East. 7th most points in the NHL, but they had Home Ice in every Series after the first.

Also I forgot about this...
Adams Division Finals
Game 1 Buffalo 3 Montreal 4
Game 2 Buffalo 3 Montreal 4 OT
Game 3 Buffalo 3 Montreal 4 OT
Game 4 Buffalo 3 Montreal 4 OT

5 of the 10 Overtime games won by Montreal were by a score of 4-3. Just a weird year...

I also believe that was the year Dale Hunter ran Turgeon into the boards following his winning goal.Hopefully wearing the Roy jersey gets a kings stick curve measured

general rule

if you are questioning yourself as to whether something is a good idea or not... it generally is not.

That said.. what is your reasoning for wearing a Habs jersey to a Kings/Devils game?

Do you want to prove you are a hockey fan?

Shouldn't need a jersey to do that.

Never made sense to me.

If not supporting one of the teams playing, just go neutral.
Can't go wrong with neutral.
And you won't come off as a dick. (some people will look at it that way regardless of your intentions)

This might be a dumb question but...
I am going to Game 3 of the Finals and was wondering if there was any protocol for wearing your teams gear at a Finals when they didnt even make the playoffs? I know I am going to get a bunch of crap for wearing my Canadiens jersey (though in LA they might not even know that the Canadiens beat them last time with all the InstaKing fans), but was wondering if there was some kind of Etiquette when it comes to this?

To be honest, I would think a "long time" Canadiens fan would know the protocol. Are you an "instaHabs" fan with a New Jersey? <---See what I did there? But seriously, I think people look foolish when they wear a different hockey teams jersey than the 2 teams playing. JMO

Dude it's So Cal. It doesn't matter what jersey you where to the game. I went to an Oilers vs Ducks playoff game in 2006, most of the people in my section were Oilers fans. I remember during the warm up I was watching Hemsky dangle & he did some really cool things with the puck. I mentioned to the people next to me that he was just a floater. The SOB scored the game winning goal. Everyone in the section had a laugh at my expense. I have to admit I had a lot of fun even though the result didn't go the Ducks way.

Remember you aren't going to a Raiders game. Just have fun & enjoy the experience.
