They're actually playing an exhibition right now against some type of Japanese traveling team.

cross one of the list:suds:

Nationals re-signed OF Alejandro De Aza to a minor league contract.

He did not receive an invitation to big league camp. SB Nation's Chris Cotillo was first to report that the two sides were close. Slated to turn 34 next month, De Aza is a career .260/.325/.396 hitter over parts of 10 major league seasons.

I think you could be a contender with this team, not just a 75 win team.
Middle infield is a little elderly but it's experienced.

Be interesting to see an elderly inexperienced player. Or an experienced youngster.

It would also be nice to actually contribute something to the conversation instead of poking at round circles. We aren't exactly in Creative Writing 101.

I am not sure of that. The bully would be decent, but not deep and the only even remotely above average position player you would have is Moustakas. The rotation would be decent, but old. It wouldn’t likely make it through the season. I think 75 wins may be generous.

On second look, yeah ... it's a bit challenged defensively, isn't it?
i was thinking after I looked at it, the 1962 Mets were made up of guys who were in their 30s on the downside ... of course, a lot of other components came together to turn that team into a legend. Again, defining a 'contender' could be just hanging around until Sept. 1.

that team would be horrendous defensively. The rotation could be OK, though I think Lynn/Arrieta have some downside and there's a bit of health risk. Nolasco sucks.

Only 1 FA of note remains on the market.

Anyone gonna venture a guess on where Cobb ends up?

The suits in the front office are always a charming mix of bullshit and sugar.

What the FUCK does this mean?

"His bat-to-ball skills are really good."

I went to school with a guy named Ron Bae. I assume they are not related.

So yeah ... "his Bae-C-Ball skills are really good."

I don't think any of them are useful anymore. Saunders is barely running an OPS over .600 since the 2016 ASB, Raburn sucks and the others are pretty washed up. Nolasco might have some use as an inning eater, but that's it.
