@drosennhl: Text from Parise: "Nothing will happen tonight."

I think he's really weighing Minnesota as his choice which is not the sexy choice I think this is the delay

born and raised as they say.

I think he is really weighing in on playing at home. I can understand why its a tough decision.

Nieuwy's drunk (a Lebrun tweet follows):

Just chatted with Nieuwendyk. He was looking at his board in his office and had Benn centering Jagr and Ericksson... Pretty good

Vancouver is already solid, Edmonton will be better, I like some of the moves Calgary has made, and if Parise chooses Minnesota, all of a sudden the NW division might not be a laughingstock anymore...

Wanna here something funny?

CLAUDE GIROUX's cap hit is 3.75 mil.

God I <3 him
My goodness, that's going to be a big number next contract

He's been the same his whole career. Not really a bad thing. Earn as much as you can, while you can. I can't blame him. I just don't buy what he sells to the press for his reasons of why he chooses to go where, when the dollar amount usually answers the question.
Approaching $106 million for career earnings.
Wonder what he has left from it.

Heatley is an anchor on Minnesota with or without Parise.

I don't understand what the hell Dallas is doing. Their offseason makes no sense to me.

#parisewatch is driving me insane. I'm just desperately hoping he's chosen the Pens and is taking a few days to convince his fiancé / family why.

A bit odd, though, that he hasn't let some of the teams know they're out of the running...

thank god the flyers picked briere out of the 3.. and even he's had his moments where that contract looked horrid

Specifically these moments are the entire regular seasons of 2008-9, 2009-10, and 2011-12.

Between Whitney and Jagr, that's four score of hockey experience. I see a lot of Stars powerplays being sponsored by Cialis this season.

That team is getting old

Nah, they are just going back to their roots. And by going back to their roots I mean only signing players who were in the league when the franchise was still the Minnesota North Stars.

At least now we Pens fans and others can finally embrace the fact that Jagr is and always was and will be...about the money. Well, maybe he wasn't in his first few years. The Cup years.

Having entered what...the third day without Zach having made a decision, it's gotta be close...so close, in fact, that:

When you are over 40 and someone offers you twice what you are worth to do the same job you were just doing, let's see if you stay put

just sayin

people put too much BS on "loyalty" in this game.
pfft

it's a business, first and foremost

Otherwise, this thread would not even have a reason to exist, and the Paise/Suter watch would be pretty boring.

If I had already made over a hundred million dollars in my career, I would think a Cup, location, and fit would be more important to me than two million bucks.

Shea Weber's options post-Suter: 1) accept Q.O at $7.5 mil. 2) wait for offer sheet. 3) sign longterm with Preds. 4) push for trade

Weber for Edler ... hockey trade
