Well, that same poster is still talking all that stuff on the general board, it’s pretty funny.
Just my opinion but I think the unnamed poster was more interested in being right than he was in what was actually happening. I think that is why he got pissed and left two times. All the posters worth their salt will argue their points and eat crow when they should.

Barber is a role player. He has played that role. Bad luck or just plain old football that Gibson got hurt.

I believe I was one of the first on this board to say that Logan Thomas was pretty freakin’ good.

OTOH, and before I get too big a head, I also said that Alex Smith was trash, that Cole Holcomb was good against the run, but not very good against the pass, and that Scott Turner’s offense looked pretty terrible.

I think Barber is perfectly suited for his role: grind out tough yards, get the first down on third and 1, score the touchdown from under five yards out. A poor man’s gerald riggs - almost automatic in short yardage.

how many times did the redskins/wtf’s have an rb that was as consistent as Barber’s been? Even my man Clinton Portis wasnt super great at short yardage? AlMo? Byner?

If Riggins is the gold standard, and Riggs the silver, then Barber’s at least approaching top ten in his ability to convert those clutch short yardage runs...

Speaking of turner, I was just being silent when everyone was ragging on him, because I remember most of you ragging on McVay his first season or two. I’m sure there will still be games it happens in again.

Turner has not been an OC long enough to make a judgement. His dad was a damned good OC, not a great coach but helluva an OC.

Really 12 games is too soon to make a real good judgement on anyone so far. What I am happy to see is the team has been getting better as the season has progressed. It gives me hope for the future.

I think I was with you on Thomas. I blamed our QBs for his less than stellar stats.

Why not just get a 300 pounder as lead FB for a tough yard or two?

I always like a FB...don’t understand why they are so out of fashion

Well, theoretically at least, an rb like Barber could break out of the pile and pick up more yards than the few they were designed to pick up.
I liked what the redskins did with Logan Thomas when he ran that sneak a few games ago. I did NOT like the play they tried against the Steelers: took too long. It was like a wr fade to the back corner of the end zone - a nice play in theory, but a low(er) percentage play than what a coordinator could choose.

Or, we could put a 245 TE (former QB) under center and have him turn and hand off to a WR running parallel to the LOS (sideways) and lose 3 yards on 4 & 1.

There aren't a lot of FBs in college football anymore. Not many guys are being developed at the position. I always like a FB because it was a real football players position.

Cant argue with that, skinsdad, and I forgot that on the play in question Inman missed his block.

Why are we calling lateral running plays on the 1 yard line anyways? Just have Thomas bull into the endzone from 1 yard out!

Wait! I meant the failed fourth down run in which Thomas handed off to somebody who was stuffed running east/west.....

was that on the goalline? I thought it was around midfield....

dont worry we have people advocating for robinson and hilton .
Im all for Robinson, you can't double Scarry Terry, and you can't load the box.
TY Hilton seems redundant, although the simms, despite having bricks for hands showed promise with a QB willing to toss it deep
