I can't say enough about Gimenez. The pitching staff will get it going again. Don't care how we win. Just keep winning. Gotta give Banny a ton of credit for pretty much saving this game.

Well, some of that is probably my bias sneaking in mixed with a little hyperbole.

But I do know that good teams like the Cards and Pirates definitely are more productive with RISP. And it's because they have smarter players than we do in a lot of cases. Elvis might be talented and fun, but he's got the baseball IQ of a bag of sunflower seeds and an equally poor attention span.

Well I was at the Pirates game on Sunday at Dodger stadium. With 2 outs in the top of the 9th and Starling Marte on second, Josh Harrison beats out an infield single to shortstop but Marte thinks Harrison won't beat the throw, so Marte rounds 3rd and STOPS halfway between 3rd and home and becomes a sitting duck for the 3rd out.

It was about the dumbest play I've ever seen.

I would feel a lot better if Robinson got healthy too...because no Wilson is good for everyone. Gim isn't as good as he's been hitting, but who cares as long as it lasts.

Mitch Moreland deserves a ton of credit for the season that he is having. I would have never expected him to stay healthy enough to put together a season like this one, but he has proven me wrong. I have had a special place in my heart for Mitch ever since he was just about the only batter to not get overwhelmed on the big stage in the 2010 WS. Since then though I have grown more and more frustrated with his inability to stay healthy. I really have to give him credit for having a very good year this year. Without him I am not sure where this team would be. Congrats on a very good season Mitch! I have a feeling he has some more very big moments left in this season.

I really hope my buddy from ESPN, Larry, is still alive to see the kind of year Mitch is having. There has not been a bigger Mitch supporter than Larry over the past few years. I wish that board wouldn't have all but died so I could go tell Larry how right he was. Hopefully Larry is still winning his fight against cancer and has enjoyed this season.
