I am actually okay with the Angels backing off of us by a game. We have not done well against them and play the the last 4. But we have done very well against Houston and have 7 against them. We can make it or break it ourselves.

Head into this next series down one game in the loss column and I'm as pleased as can be. I can only hope that the Angels are out of it completely by that series and shut one or two of their starters down. Knowing them, they'll set up their rotation to try and fuck us over just for spite.

We cannot promise the continued success against them. When you are chasing number one every bit helps. Texas was already winning so Anaheim wouldn't have picked up any ground...

Just FYI-Angels going on a 10 game road trip to Seattle, Minnesota and Houston. Then play Mariners and A's at home and then finish on the road against the Rangers. Astros finish off their long road trip with 4 against us and then 9 at home against the A's, Angels and Rangers then finish on the road at Seattle and Arizona. Twins have 6 against Detroit (not much there) and 3 against Angels, 6 against Indians and 3 against the Royals. Indians will be tough as they are still in the race. Rangers have Houston 7, A's 3, Angels 4, Mariners 3 and Detroit 3. Houston 3 and A's are on the road.

That's quite extreme. Taking 3 of 4 vs Houston is hard no matter where the games are played. A split is absolutely isn't a failure. Losing ground is a failure.
