Yeah, Commanders is an entirely new football team. An expansion team. I realize that the name change didn't take us old farts into consideration, but to make such a drastic change in the name and then put all the Redskins history under it. That was just shitty on Snyder's part. Or just par for the course when it comes to Snyder's triflin ass.

I'm surprised the hoop still has the Redskins name listed in the forums section.

Not being from the DC area, a name that represented the town was not a high priority of mine. I believe Wright/Rivera said that no Native American imagery would be used, as such, Warriors was off the table.

If they did want to provide something that would be meaningful to the area, Admirals would have been close I suppose. The Naval Academy is close to DC.

I did like Red Wolves just because it sounds awesome and is a newer name like the Ravens. Commanders was terrible but still better than an Arena League name like Brigade or Armada. Red Hogs would have been interesting? My rankings from what was considered at one point:

Red Wolves
Admirals
Red Hogs
Commanders
Brigade
Armanda

That being said, I don't believe one word from Wright/Rivera when they said the fans had input. Unless they mean that fans submitted ideas and those ideas were thrown in the trash.

Chris Draden having OJ put on those gloves used in the murders that looked 2 or 3 sizes too small. What people may not know is just before that. OJ had a visit from a friend of his. His friend told OJ to stop taking his arthritis medication, OJ had arthritis in his hands and when he didn't take it. His hands would swell up really bad. Which led to the famous J Cochran line, 'If the gloves don't fit. You must acquit.'

The jury really wanted to acquit OJ and the 3 things above gave them plausible reasons to do so even though he was guilty as all fuck.

That is all true. Simpson had the "Dream Team" and they did what they were paid to do. Seems like the strategy was to counter-punch with the gloves. Some sources said Cochran bullied Darden into the glove request. Who knows.

Clark screwed up big time with calling Furhman to the stand and Darden allegedly told her not to. Clark goofed with Furhman and Darden goofed with the gloves. Cochran allegedly called the Furhman tapes "mana from heaven".

Sherck was amazing in his cross-examination as well. Bailey did a splendid job of shaking down the forensic team and he made them sound incompetent. I believe the Furhman tapes pushed the jury over the edge though. Anyone could see that OJ was acting, but the Furhman testimony was a nightmare for the prosecution.

This brings me back to the Congressional hearing: if they get Snyder to testify, could they get him rattled and make him run to the 5th amendment?

If he begins covering the mic and his lawyer whispers in his ear, and it's followed by him pleading the 5th...I think they got him.

They must ask pointed questions that they know he will take the 5th on. Surely that would be enough for the league to make a motion to dismiss him?

I can't call it except to say I doubt Snyder's lawyers allow him to sink his own battleship. I gotta believe that Snyder's lawyers have a couple more contingencies in place than Snyder pleading the 5th. Another thing to consider, Its possible, probable even imo that the entire committee has little ineterest in exposing Snyder's dark secrets to the light of day. As that might expose some of their dark secrets to the light. Snyder may be a total idiot when it come to making decisions related to the Skins winning football games, idiots don't make themselves into a person with 4 billion dollars in net worth.

People, even myself, have speculated that Snyder has dirt on other owners, hell, maybe he has dirt on some members of congress. Maybe its not as nefarious as that though. Maybe its as simple as he's business partners with some of them. I don't know, but at this point and given all the shit he's been accused of yet it all just seems to bead up and roll of his back like water. Snyder has an air or being untouchable. I hope I'm wrong, but at this point. I see Snyder owning the Skins and continuing to fuck them up long after I'm gone.
