Tons of respect for the men who flew for the Red Tails but it has nothing to do with Washington. Warriors was the way to go. You keep the history for the most part. Commanders has nothing to do with DC either.
Yeah, Commanders is an entirely new football team. An expansion team. I realize that the name change didn't take us old farts into consideration, but to make such a drastic change in the name and then put all the Redskins history under it. That was just shitty on Snyder's part. Or just par for the course when it comes to Snyder's triflin ass.Tons of respect for the men who flew for the Red Tails but it has nothing to do with Washington. Warriors was the way to go. Not being from the DC area, a name that represented the town was not a high priority of mine. I believe Wright/Rivera said that no Native American imagery would be used, as such, Warriors was off the table.Tons of respect for the men who flew for the Red Tails but it has nothing to do with Washington. wait dean and DGF say you cant call it an " expansion team " i was scolded for using that kind of sarcasm because sarcasm is not something they understand and can only know the definition of it as a sports team being brand new from scratch with new playersYeah, Commanders is an entirely new football team. I'm surprised the hoop still has the Redskins name listed in the forums section.
What up, duke. I'm good, brah. How you doin? Cooking the books eh. I hadn't heard that. Snyder keeps his fingers in some pies don't he.
@Niner Outlaw is a lawyer and he drops by the forum from time to time. He's a good dude.
Barry Shreck(sp) destroying the state's DNA evidence.
Mark Fuhrman lying under oath about never using the n-word. Why Marcia Clark had a 1990s LAPD police officer testify under oath to never using the word. Let's just say that was a mistake.
Chris Draden having OJ put on those gloves used in the murders that looked 2 or 3 sizes too small. What people may not know is just before that. OJ had a visit from a friend of his. His friend told OJ to stop taking his arthritis medication, OJ had arthritis in his hands and when he didn't take it. His hands would swell up really bad. Which led to the famous J Cochran line, 'If the gloves don't fit. You must acquit.'
The jury really wanted to acquit OJ and the 3 things above gave them plausible reasons to do so even though he was guilty as all fuck.
I can't call it except to say I doubt Snyder's lawyers allow him to sink his own battleship. I gotta believe that Snyder's lawyers have a couple more contingencies in place than Snyder pleading the 5th. Another thing to consider, Its possible, probable even imo that the entire committee has little ineterest in exposing Snyder's dark secrets to the light of day. As that might expose some of their dark secrets to the light. Snyder may be a total idiot when it come to making decisions related to the Skins winning football games, idiots don't make themselves into a person with 4 billion dollars in net worth. This brings me back to the Congressional hearing: if they get Snyder to testify, could they get him rattled and make him run to the 5th amendment?
If he begins covering the mic and his lawyer whispers in his ear, and it's followed by him pleading the 5th...I think they got him.
I HAThey must ask pointed questions that they know he will take the 5th on. Surely that would be enough for the league to make a motion to dismiss him?
Sarcasm n semantics aside. If they aren't an expansion team. I wish they would stop playing like one.wait dean and DGF say you cant call it an " expansion team " i was scolded for using that kind of sarcasm because sarcasm is not something they understand and can only know the definition of it as a sports team being brand new from scratch with new players
you are not allowed to be saracstic and use that term , soon falco and duck foot will also be on the block
arguing with a guy who was silent on the blm riots , attacks on federal court houses and the WH is pointless
i am sorry but walking around the capitol taking selfies unarmed isnt an insurrection or a threat to anything . pedo joe is in office and trump left office
i dont give a damn about what left wing socialist history books have to say 50 yrs from now
Yeah we forgot CHAZThank you for proving my point.
Dan's history is littered with one time good friends that he crapped on in the end.
There were just so many different--and better--ways the team could've gone with the name. Not being from the DC area, a name that represented the town was not a high priority of mine. I believe Wright/Rivera said that no Native American imagery would be used, as such, Warriors was off the table.
If they did want to provide something that would be meaningful to the area, Admirals would have been close I suppose. The Naval Academy is close to DC.
I did like Red Wolves just because it sounds awesome and is a newer name like the Ravens. Commanders was terrible but still better than an Arena League name like Brigade or Armada. Red Hogs would have been interesting? My rankings from what was considered at one point:
Red Tails
Red Wolves
Admirals
Red Hogs
Commanders
Brigade
Armanda
I agree. It looks like they gave the fans "token" input and then ignored that input. That being said, I don't believe one word from Wright/Rivera when they said the fans had input. Unless they mean that fans submitted ideas and those ideas were thrown in the trash.
look if you say the term redskins is racist then ok , but warriors with the imagery we had would have been great and i could have gotten on board with that easily . maybe we use the old school lance . but woke ass RR wouldnt even consider it and he said from day one he wanted a military themed name and he carried out this charade of giving the fans input for over a yearThere were just so many different--and better--ways the team could've gone with the name.
The whole line of "Red-something": Redhawk, Red wolves, Redhogs, Red knights, Redclaws, Redtails, etc
If it had to be military-related: admirals, arsenal, warthogs, commandos, choppers, bullets, gunners, etc

now we are stuck with this BS and within 3 yrs he could be out the door along with his cronies and the fans are stuck with this fake ass shit
I think it's funny how some are suggesting Admirals would be better than Generals.
Really it's the same thing just Navy vs. Army, Marines, and Airforce
that is what i am saying . it was RR who did it. he went on public record about it . and who hired wright (or chose him ) ? RR stop rewriting history . commanders were the worst possible choice on the boardSo you are saying RR picked the name and logo? Synder and Wright had no say at all? I thought Dan and Wright didn't want any Native American imagery at all. So the Indian logo and Warriors were out. I agree Redwolves would have been better but there is nothing wrong with Commanders. It had to be a joint decision to go the military route not just RR.
