All the fuskies have had for over a decade is a dream of a very distant feeling that thy thing may be real or may not be real of what it's like to beat Oregon. It's been a very very long time and, especially in the past few years, it hasn't even been remotely close. It's always billed the same...is the warshington's year? And every year, there is a resounding, and very loud No!! For a fuskie fan to say that a single win over Oregon wouldn't make warshington's year and that anything else after that would be an utter and bald faced lie. Lol. Fuskie fans have been jerking at night, dreaming of a win over the Ducks for over a decade. I'm sure a lot of them have even forgotten what it even feels like. They only know the feeling of cowering in the corner in a fetal position as time runs out on yet another loss to the Ducks. We all know that the streak will end some day, that is inevitable. Will it be this year? Maybe. But hell, my 13 year old has no memory of the Ducks ever losing to the Fuskies. That should say it all right there.
Hate to tell you this (no, not really), but UW fans have a LOT more going on than any concern or care about the duck winning streak.

Your fans NEED this win badly. UW, not so much. Sure, we want that monkey off our backs, but we aren't a so-called 'elite' program reeling from super sub par play trying to hold on for dear life. UW is rebuilding yet again with a promising crop of young and talented kids. The road upset win against USC was a giant step forward. There will be more quality wins this year to follow it, but we know the reality of playing so much youth is there will be let downs as well. We understand football and accept it for what it is. There is no false sense of entitlement like your fans. I can go show you where even you believed there were no steps backward coming this year after losing Mariota. You have a very young fan base that doesn't have the history to 'get it'. There wasn't a single season during UW's run that we didn't worry the following year over changes at key positions. It happens in every program. No team stays on top every single year. Not bama, not OSU, not michigan, not ND, and yet your fans think there is no chance to ever take a step back for the rest of time. Reality is here.

This week our fans will be excited and relaxed looking forward to this game. Yours will be mostly nervous and tense. If we lose it will suck for a minute, but it's not a big deal in the bigger picture of what's going on. If you lose on top of everything else this season, you have lost literally everything and have nothing. Your fans will be looking to the civil war to at least find one fan base you can still torment. A sad, sad existence.

You know that scene in Airplane where everyone is lined up to deck that crazy woman?

That is Oregon's season. All those PAC teams that the Ducks throttled for a decade are lining up to get their shot in and walk out with the win.

How does Chip come back to Eugene? SOOOOO SIMPLE.

Azzinaro comes back as his Defensive Coordinator.

Chip is HC. CHip is also given partial ownership of Nike itself.

LETS GET THIS THING GOING.

Chips going to the University of Miami book it!

I'll tell you, I was shocked when one of the touted young guns wasn't trotted out to take thier lumps this season, kind of like what Browning is doing with Washington this year. To think that the coaching staff felt the need to bring in Vernon Adams says it all and we have seen why with the product that Lockie and Alie leave on the field. The the biggest question mark resides in the young former 4*'s Mahalak and Jonson and why they haven't even sniffed the field this season. With Jonson now out for the year, there would have to be a point where Mahalak would be trotted out in the name of the future. Wouldn't you think?
Shows how hard it is to find those Mariota's. Sark went out and got some highly touted QB's and those he left behind turned out to be garbage at the college level. I don't know if Kelly just had a better eye, or the law of averages of awesome HS QB's not translating caught up, but you are right. They should just take their lumps and get those other kids out there. Mahalak already had his red shirt year didn't he? And the two QB's that have been so sub par were both brought in by Kelly before he left? Or just one of them?

If Helfrich really is safe despite the down year and now the pressure of making the playoffs is really gone, then why not get your future star out there and build him up for another run next year? At least it gives a few months to compare where he's at to where those other two are at.

I'm sure it will come at some point, but it won't be this week. Game still means too much to put an unknown young kid in that kind of fire. Problem is there isn't a gimmie on the rest of your schedule. There is no safe landing for testing out a kid. Should have come vs Colorado maybe. Just looked again at your schedule and ouch. That's a hell of a stretch coming up. At ASU, Cal, At Stanford, and USC before the civil war. Holy shit.

Ducks fans have been very spoiled for the good part of the last decade, even to the point to where the hard core old time fans have forgotten how it was before Mike Belotti started to turn the corner and the Ducks began to be in the discussion every season. Are we as bad as we have been playing? Possibly, but I would like to believe that we are not. We've recruited well over the years and have a lot of talent, albeit being very young in some key positions. I am of the opinion that the Ducks have the potential to step up and make the most of what remains of the season, even after the debacle that was last night. It seems as the game should have been in hand and the coaches turned it off with 8 minutes left in the game (which flies in the face of the killer instinct we've become accustomed to). Was I a bit surprised that we've fallen this far to this point this season? Yes. Who could have expected he home losses we've had this season, especially with a home loss to WSU? I had expected maybe 3 losses this season, Michigan St, Utah, and maybe USC. I was of the opinion that, althogh a drop off from MM, Vernon Adams, for the most part, would be successful. I never really believed that Jeff Lockie could be "the guy" and was very surprised that one of the younger guys (Mahalak or Jonson) didn't step up, which I believe points back to the coaching staff and their failings in getting one of these guys ready to go.
You know, especially after last night, I've accepted the fact that every single game will be I question this season, and I've lived that in the past prior to the rise in he last decade and I'm alright with that. I am looking forward to next week and am not nervous whatsoever. I love CFB, but when it's all said and done, there are a lot of more things that are more important in my life. Will I join in the "smack talk" this week? You bet! That is just part of the fun of being a fan. ;)
Good luck this coming Saturday.

4-8 might be a possibility for Oregon. That's quite a drop from finishing #2 last year.

Lol. I know. The schedule is brutal the rest of the way. But, a loss this coming week should trigger the change regardless of who is on the schedule in my opinion. I think Helf is safe after this season. Pellum on the other hand...

what i do know is that Oregon just lost its 4-star QB recruit, so something isn't right in that dept.

Who Seth green?

Oregon decided to go a different direction and offered the local kid @ Sheldon High School.

That is very true. We saw that when Utah was still running trick plays when the game was well in hand.

RD, you seem like a decent joe (for a ducks fan lol). I don't think the ducks are as bad as the utah game suggested and WSU isn't as bad as losing to portland state. One of the things I just LOVE about college football is the week to week shifting. Emotions can play huge roles like it did in the UW/USC game and even down teams can find games where they just put it all together and kill a Goliath.

To me Oregon should still be favored this week. UW is so inconsistent on offense and are not in position to really take advantage of where Oregon's defense is at its weakest. Meanwhile, losing Victor for the first half is going to really leave their defense vulnerable to the run on a unit that has already not been stellar against it.

I'm not going in with some cocky expectation of a win. I'm going into that game just looking forward to the atmosphere. I love big time match ups and this is certainly billed to be that. Not that either team is world beaters, but that it could go either way.

NO NO DONT LIKE THIS SHIT. THIS IS FUCKING UTTER BULLSHIT.

I AM SO FUCKING SICK TO MY GDAMN STOMACH RIGHT NOW.

THIS WAS EMBRASSSING.

THese are coaches who inherited a FUCKING FERRARI program. It was a WELL OILED MACHINE, and what do they do? TEHSE INCOMPETENT ASSES CRASH THE THING INTO A DITCH.

ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS PLUG AND CHUG. Replace the PIECES WITH THE 4 and 5 STAR RECRUITS WE WERWE GETTING ANNUALLY.

WHat happened?!?! WHAT THE FUCK!?!?
4 and 5 star recruits? You guys weren't exactly top 10 in recruiting every year and I haven't seen a huge decline on the end. Oregon is a QB centered offense (as is Auburn) if that position is a bust then you have huge issues. Remember you saying you didn't want Braxton Miller to transfer?

You guys have to develope a QB as do we (I'm guessing Auburn is headed to the junior college ranks again).

We've been alright in recruiting; a lot of 4*s with a 5* here and there. We've always seemed to do more with less. The QB question is a big one.

I'm just looking for a good competitive game that comes down to the wire. I'm a Raiders fan from way back and that was part of the love for them, it seemed like every single week was an epic game that came down to the wire.
