Former Las Vegas Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs III was sentenced Wednesday to three to 10 years in prison for a November 2021 drunken driving crash that killed a Las Vegas woman and her dog.

He should’ve gotten a much longer sentence, he killed someone due to his recklessness. It appears to be another case where wealth and fame results in someone getting off easy, and that’s disgusting. I hope he serves a full sentence.

Probably an unpopular view but it's a sensible legal outcome. There's a reduction in tariff if the defendant pleads guilty and shows remorse. 5-15 years would have sounded about right for a drink-driving death had it happened in the UK. I doubt he serves the minimum, or the maximum.

Yeah, this. It could have been 4 or 5 on the bottom end but it's actually close to what most of these get. I knew a gal once who's brother got 4-12 ( I think but can't remember 100%) for this and he killed a woman and her kid. I believe he served 6 years total before being paroled. That was in Washington St and I know every state is different.
