Yep, that's right, according to Jenifer Langosch in her latest Q&A on the Pirates' page at MLB.com.

With Maholm, Doumit, and Pearce gone, there is no Pirate left who played with the major league club in 2007. Meek is the only guy who started the 2008 season with the team.

Is there anyone out there who is feeling any confidence about the 2012 Pirates?

Am I feeling any confidence? After the 'big' signings of Barajas and Barmes to fill two of the three glaring holes in the lineup... and still no movement on the gaping hole at first base... I don't see how anyone can feel confident about this baseball team. Oh yeah, they still need a starting pitcher, as well. :L

They needed offense at catcher, shortstop and first. They haven't signed anyone that will give them that. Therefore, there is very little reason to feel confident, IMHO.
