And WVU drops all the way to #2 in the BPI. I hope the committee doesn't use BPI as a metric towards seeding because, at least right now, it would be awful. Baylor, IMO has the best resume in the country and they'd be a freaking 4 seed. We'll see what it looks like towards the end.

BPI is garbage for seeding and I say that as Villanova is #1 in BPI.

RPI is still at the end of the day is the best measure that rewards actually beating teams. I think the committee should use RPI with a dash of Ken Pom for seeding.

Yeah I too prefer the RPI. Another metric that I think could be utilized more is the Massey rankings, at least in terms of seeding. I know KenPom has it's strengths, but one of them shouldn't be to place teams on a seed line. The most glaring example I saw this morning was having Notre Dame at 22 and Iowa State at 23. I think that would be a close game, and ND would be slightly favored(on a neutral court), but ND's resume completely dwarfs Iowa State's. I also think using metrics like Massey, KenPom, BPI and Sagarin makes slightly more sense in football because of short sample size. Most teams going into selection sunday will have played anywhere from 32-35 games, that is enough to use resume based principles IMO.

I really think WVU will miss the tourney. I don't see a win I'm confident in till Febuary. An that's only because Okie St surely will have a B12 win before then.

Of course BPI is a horrid measure, but you don't lose to a 7-9 team at home in conference when you are in the top 10. Jesus this team drives me crazy.

Any given night you can see an upset but a team that's #1 in something that's supposed to measure good shouldn't be losing to a below .500 team.
